Productive connects to Slack in three ways: a personal integration for your own notifications and task creation, an organization-wide integration for team-level messaging and AI mentions like @Productive and Agents, and the Slack Connector, which brings Slack into the AI Assistant in Productive.

Personal Integration
Receive your own Productive notifications in Slack, create tasks directly from Slack messages, and sync your time-off status with your Slack status.
Status Sync
Your absence status in Productive is automatically reflected as your status in Slack.
Organization-Wide Integration
Share task previews, Pulse reports, and automated messages with everyone in a Slack channel, regardless of who created the task or triggered the action. It's also what allows mentioning @Productive or an Agent in a channel.
Sending Pulse Reports to Slack
Deliver your saved reports to a Slack channel on a recurring schedule.
If you connected Slack before September 15, 2026, you'll need to reconnect the organization-wide integration to get the updated app. Your personal integration doesn't need reconnecting.
Productive AI in Slack
Summarize threads, create tasks, and retrieve information from Productive without leaving Slack.
📌 Requires both the personal and organization-wide Slack integrations to be connected.
Agents in Slack (Beta)
Beyond the AI Assistant, individual Agents can also respond directly when mentioned by name in a Slack channel — for example, @Budget Monitor instead of @Productive.
Before you start:
If you connected the organization-wide integration before September 15, 2026, reconnect it to get the updated app. Your personal integration must be connected too, but it doesn't need reconnecting.
Invite the Productive app into any channel where you want an Agent to respond.
Your Slack admin must allow all members to create and disable user groups (in your Slack settings).
Your workspace must be on a paid Slack plan.

Slack Connector (Beta)
Where the personal and organization-wide integrations are about Slack talking to Productive, the Slack Connector works the other way: it lets the AI Assistant reach into Slack on its own, to search messages, post updates and replies, read channel history and threads, and read or write canvases, all with your own Slack access.
