Choosing a Data Source for Your Report

A reference to every data source available when building a report from scratch in Productive.

Before choosing a data source, make sure you've selected From Scratch when creating a report. 👉 See Getting Started with Reports.

When building a report from scratch, choose which type of data to include.

Productive lets you extract data from the following sources:

  • Absence Allowances: Report on absence balances and allowances per person.

  • Bills: Track and report on bills from purchase orders.

  • Bookings: Analyze scheduled work, booked hours, and capacity usage, including absence bookings.

  • Budgets: Get insights into revenue, costs, and profitability at the budget level.

  • Capacity & Availability: Review how much available time each person or team has.

  • Companies: Report on your clients or leads (data from CRM > Companies).

  • Cost Rates: Access internal cost rates used for profitability and margin tracking (data from users' salary information).

  • Deals: Track your sales pipeline, deal values, and stages.

  • Deal Funnels: Visualize your sales funnel, identify drop-offs, and measure conversion rates across stages using deal funnel reports.

  • Expenses: View submitted expenses.

  • Financial Items: Combine multiple financial sources in one place (budgets, invoices, expenses, and future bookings) to gauge profitability. Best for customized financial reports covering invoicing, budget accuracy, and revenue.

  • Invoice Line Items: Break down invoiced amounts by each line item in an invoice.

  • Invoices: Track sent and paid invoices, invoice dates, and totals.

  • Hours Over/Under Capacity: Monitor logged time that exceeds or falls short of availability, used in overhead cost calculations.

  • Payments: Report on incoming payments tied to invoices.

  • Payroll: Overview of your team's salaries.

  • People: See data related to your team, permission sets, departments, and status.

  • Projects: Report on project progress, stages, last activity, profit, and margins.

  • Proposals: Track proposals sent to clients, including status, deal, owner, services, quoted quantities and prices, budget totals, and signature details.

  • Purchase Orders: Report on purchase orders, including PO numbers, vendors, status, and delivery and issue dates.

  • Rates: View rate cards per company.

  • Resource Requests: Track resource requests made by the team or by project.

  • Services: Track time, revenue, cost, and profit for services in budgets.
