Adding Client Companies

Organize and track your clients efficiently by managing companies, sales deals, budgets, and contacts in Productive.

In Productive, the Companies feature lets you manage client-related information in one place.

Use it to keep track of clients, sales deals, budgets, contacts, and projects. This central hub makes client management more organized and accessible.

How to Add Companies

To add a new company, go to CRM > Companies. This section lists all existing companies in your account and includes filters to help you search and organize results.

You can also import company data in bulk via CSV if you're adding multiple clients at once.

Adding a New Company In-App

Click the violet + Company button in the upper-right corner to start.

1) Add Company Details

Enter the company name and optionally include the company logo.

📌 The logo will be displayed across your Productive account in the Resource Planner, client projects, and tables.

2) Additional Information

Add the company's default currency, full company name, and Tax ID to avoid manual adjustments when opening a deal or budget for the client in question.

3) Default Invoicing Settings

Select the default subsidiary, tax rate, payment terms, and invoice template for invoicing this client. Ideally, this information is added here after finalizing the contract with the client.


If you plan on using E-Invoicing features, add the necessary details for the client under E-Invoicing settings.

The details added here will automatically apply to any new sales deals, budgets, and invoices created for this client.

4) Create Company

Once created, you'll be directed to the company's page.

All the information you added for the client will be in located in the Info tab, from where you can adjust it further.

Contact Details

Add default contact information by selecting Add phone and email in the upper-right corner of the company page.

Adjusting the Billing and Organization Info

If you generate and send invoices through Productive, keeping client details accurate is important.

Change Billing Info

Open the company’s contact details from the upper-right corner to update billing information. These details will appear on the client’s invoices.

Multiple Addresses

For companies with multiple addresses, you can select which one is the billing address.

Additional Information

Add any extra information about the company by clicking the Add Field button.

Editing Company Details

To update a company’s name or logo, open the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner and select Edit company.


📌 You can also click on the company name in the left sidebar to start editing.

To change details like default currency, Tax ID, or invoicing defaults, go to the Info tab and edit the fields directly.


Company Code

After creating a company, a Company code field appears in the Info tab.

Each company in Productive is assigned a unique code, primarily used in invoice numbering, but also available for formatting project, budget, and purchase order (PO) numbers.

When a new company is created, the code is automatically generated from the first four letters of the company name. If another company already uses the same code, a number is added to differentiate them.

You can update the company code at any time by editing the company’s details.
