In Productive, the Companies feature lets you manage client-related information in one place.
Use it to keep track of clients, sales deals, budgets, contacts, and projects. This central hub makes client management more organized and accessible.
How to Add Companies
To add a new company, go to CRM > Companies. This section lists all existing companies in your account and includes filters to help you search and organize results.
📌 You can also import company data in bulk via CSV if you're adding multiple clients at once.
Adding a New Company In-App
Click the + Company button in the upper-right corner to start.
Adding a New Company In-App
Click + Company in the upper-right corner to open the New company form.
Fill in the company details:
Name — the short name used across Productive (e.g., Productive).
Full company name — the company's full legal name, used on invoices, deals, purchase orders, and proposals (e.g., The Productive Company).
Tax ID — the company's tax identification number, used on invoices and financial documents.
Optionally, upload a company avatar (max 10 MB, transparent, 1000×1000px).
📌 The avatar appears across your Productive account in the Resource Planner, client projects, and tables.
Under Default Financial Settings, set the currency, subsidiary, tax rate, payment terms (e.g., 15 days, 30 days), and invoice template. These defaults apply automatically when creating deals, budgets, or invoices for this company.
Click Create company to save.
Company Page
Once you click Create company, you’ll be redirected to the the company page.
All the details you entered will appear in the Info tab, where you can adjust or add more information at any time.
Contact Details
To add contact information for the company, select + Add contact field. You can enter Email, Phone, Address, or Website.
1) Default Billing Address (for invoices)
Add the Address field to add billing details. The first address you add will be used as the default on invoices and proposals.
Add additional addresses via + Add contact field > Address.
Rename the field (e.g., “Headquarters” or “Branch Office”) by typing into the field.
📌 You can then set any address as the default.
2) Default Email Recipient (for invoices)
In the company’s Contact details, add an Email field and mark it as the default email recipient.
When sending a finalized invoice to your client, the recipient (TO) field will automatically prefill with the default billing email(s) from the contact details.
📌 You can mark multiple emails as default. Since invoices can be sent to more than one recipient, all default billing emails will be prefilled into the TO field.
📌 Note: If your subscription is in trial, the recipient field will currently prefill with the logged-in user’s email for most users.
3) Additional Fields
Use + Add contact field to include multiple entries for websites, phone numbers, or other company details.
Editing Company Details
To update a company’s name or logo, open the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner and select Edit company.
For details like currency, Tax ID, or invoicing defaults, go to the Info tab and edit fields directly.
Company Code
Each company in Productive is assigned a unique company code. This code is used for invoice numbering and can also be applied when formatting project, budget, or purchase order (PO) numbers.
By default, the code is generated from the first four letters of the company’s name.
If that code is already taken, a number will be added to differentiate it.
You can change the code anytime by editing the company’s details in the Info tab.
