Amazon's Best Sellers Rank (BSR) is a rating assigned by Amazon to estimate how popular a product is at a given time. It's often seen as a vanity metric and indicates a product's sales volume relative to others in its category. BSR can change frequently, even hourly, due to sales and competitor performance.

For instance, if a rival product suddenly sells well, your BSR could drop, regardless of your consistent sales. Trends, consumer behavior shifts, or unexplained changes in BSR can occur too.

To grasp a product's true performance, consider its average BSR over time and treat short-term BSR snapshots as indicators, not long-term forecasts. BSR isn't valuable alone; it needs context. A strong BSR doesn't assure top search results.

To address repricing sustainability, we're devising a method to assess BSR over time alongside Organic Ranking.

Don't let BSR solely guide pricing. Raising prices doesn't mean sacrificing BSR. You can impact BSR by:

  1. Increasing Ad Spend

  2. Applying Coupons and Lightning Deals
