Budgets in Uniskai let you set a spending threshold for one or more accounts or one or more regions — evaluated per month or per week — and trigger notifications when costs approach or exceed that threshold. Notifications are delivered by email (to one or more recipients) and in-app via the bell icon in the top right of the platform.
This can help you stay on top of your finances and take proactive measures to manage your spending. For more detailed instructions on how to set up these notifications, please take a look at the following article.

If the budget limit is exceeded, you will receive an email from Uniskai, as shown below.
Within the Uniskai platform, you will receive bell notifications at the top right. Click ‘View Details’ to examine your budget limit in more detail.
When you click ‘View Details,’ you will access all the information about your budget limit. You can edit your budget limit directly from this dialogue or click ‘Got it’ to review the changes later.
The budget can be indicated by a yellow or red icon. Yellow indicates that it's close to the limit, while red means the limit has been exceeded. Uniskai provides personalized forecasts to help you plan and optimize your cloud infrastructure.
If the budget notification does not exceed the spending forecast and current costs, the bell icon is grey.
However, if it exceeds the spending forecast, the bell icon turns yellow.
And if it exceeds current spending, the bell icon becomes red.

Budget notifications in Slack
If you have Slack connected to Uniskai, budget notifications are also delivered to your configured Slack channel — alongside the in-app bell and email notifications.
Budgets can be connected to personal notifications (delivered to your own Slack) or to organization notifications (delivered to a shared organization channel).
To start receiving budget notifications in Slack, connect a Slack webhook first. Any user can set this up — see How to connect Slack webhook, etc. notifications for the setup steps, which cover connecting both personal and organization notifications.
Once Slack is connected, every time a budget exceeds its threshold, Uniskai posts a message to the configured Slack channel.
The message includes:
- The **budget name** that was triggered.
- The **scope** — Account ID, Account Name, and Regions for every account in the budget.
- The **monthly (or weekly) limit** that was set.
- The **actual spending** so far in the current period, and the **dates** of the period.
- The **forecast** for the full period (current + expected spending).
- An **Edit budget** button — opens the budget in Uniskai for editing the threshold or scope.
