This guide shows you how to create, organize, and populate your Pinboards so you can efficiently showcase your design concepts.
Creating and managing Pinboards
To create your first Pinboard:
Navigate to your Project dashboard and click on the Project where you want to create your Pinboard
Select the default 'Untitled pinboard' from your file list to begin
To create additional Pinboards:
Open your Project Files page.
Select Create File.
Choose Pinboard.
Alternatively, from your Project's landing page, click the ➕ button and select Pinboard.
To rename a Pinboard:
Click directly on the Pinboard name in the breadcrumbs at the top of the Page
Enter your new title in the field provided
Hit Enter
Tip: Before adding images, consider adding a logo banner or project header to brand your Pinboard. Download our template here.
Organizing content with sections
Sections help you organize images into logical groups on your Pinboard. You can create separate sections or display images in one continuous stream.
To add a new section:
Use either of these methods:
Click Create new section at the bottom of your page
Click the ➕ New button in the top right corner and select ➕ Create new section
Note: Your Pinboard comes with one default section at the top.
To name a section:
Hover over the section line to reveal editing options
Click into Untitled
Type your new section heading
Press Enter
To reorder sections:
Hover over the right side of your section heading and click the up or down arrow to move the section.
To delete a section:
Hover over the section heading to reveal options
Click the 🗑️ icon
Confirm deletion
Note: Images in deleted sections are moved to archived images view.
Adding images to Pinboards
You can add images from multiple sources to build your design presentations. Images can be added to the top of your Pinboard or directly into specific sections.
From your device
To add images to the top of your Pinboard:
Click the + Add New button in the top right corner
Select Add from my files
Choose your images (multiple selection supported)
Click Open
To move these images to a different section, check the box to the left of the image, then use the bottom control menu to select Move to Section.
To add images directly to a section:
Hover over the top left of your target section and click the ➕ button
Select Add from my files
Choose your images
Click Open
From Pinterest
Important: You can only import images from public Pinterest boards. Set secret boards to public before importing, then change them back if needed.
Using a Pinterest URL:
Navigate to your Pinterest board in a separate browser tab
Copy the board's URL from your browser's address bar (not from the Share button)
Return to Programa and click either + Add New (top right) or the section ➕ button
Select Add from Pinterest
Paste the link and press Enter
Select the images you want to import
Click Add
Note: Pinterest's API limits URL imports to 50 images per board. For larger boards, use the Web Clipper.
Using the Web Clipper:
Open the Web Clipper on your Pinteresboard
Select Add to Pinboard
Scroll to the end of thumbnails and select Fetch more images (scroll down the webpage to load more)
Select all desired images
Click Clip
Note: Multiple images clipped via Web Clipper are retrieved as thumbnails, which may appear blurry. For higher resolution, open images individually before clipping.
From the web with Web Clipper
The Web Clipper lets you add images directly from any webpage without downloading them first.
Prerequisites: Install the Programa Web Clipper Chrome extension before using this method.
To clip an image:
Navigate to the product webpage
Click the Programa icon in your browser to open the Web Clipper
Select Clip to Pinboard from the top dropdown
Right-click the image and select Clip Image, or use the Crop tool to capture a specific area
Add any relevant Notes or Tags
Click Clip at the bottom
Choose your Project and target Pinboard
Wait for the button to turn green, confirming successful upload
From your Image Library
Any image imported into Pinboards automatically saves to your Image Library for reuse across Projects.
To import from Image Library:
Click + New (top right) or the section ➕ button
Select Import from Image library
Browse or search by tags in the right panel
Select your images
Click Add
From your Product Library
Import product images, including supporting photos, directly from your Product Library.
To import from Product Library:
Click + New (top right) or the section ➕ button
Select Import from Product library
Search by product name or description in the right panel
Select your images (all product images including supporting photos are available)
Click Add
Archiving images in your Pinboard
You can archive images within your pinboard whenever needed.
Hover over the image and click the circle icon to select it.
Then, choose “Archive” from the bottom toolbar.
To access archived images, simply click the “Archive” tab located in the top-left corner of your pinboard.
Then, to unarchive an image, simply click on it and select “Unarchive.”
