Please note: Our platform's design has recently been updated, so you may notice differences in screenshots and videos in this guide compared to the current layout. The steps and functionality outlined in this guide remains the same.

Reviewing & Editing Templates

We recommend reviewing all template content and customising elements to suit your specific project needs. You can start by renaming any files by clicking the 3 dots in the top right of the page to open options, click rename, type in your new title and press save.

Feel free to reach out to our team on live chat if you would like advice on how best to customise the template for your studio needs.

Duplicating your Template Project

To copy your template data to a new project, simply navigate to the Template Project card in your dashboard, click the 3 dots in the top right corner of the card and select 'Duplicate Project'. A new project called 'Template Project Copy' will be added to your dashboard. Please note, depending on the size of your project, it may take a few minutes for the duplication process to complete.

To rename the newly copied project, click the cog icon in the top right of the card to open project settings. You can then edit all information fields in this window.

How to setup a custom Template Project

Each studio has their own unique project workflow, as such you can create your own custom Template Project specific to your requirements.

  1. Create a new project in your dashboard called '[Studio Name] Template Project'

  2. The newly created project will contain the default untitled Board, Schedule and Pinboard.

  3. Open the Untitled Board and rename it to suit your requirements.

  4. Add in your usual project tasks under the To Do column.

  5. Open the Untitled Schedule and rename it to suit your requirements.

  6. Create your typical section headings for your schedule

  7. Add in any placeholder or frequently specified products within each section.

  8. Open the Untitled Pinboard and rename it to suit your requirements.

  9. Depending on how you layout your Pinboards, you can add your logo as an image to the top section of your Pinboard

  10. Create your typical section headings for your pinboard.

  11. Repeat this process to add as many Boards, Schedules and Pinboards as you require.

You can add as many Boards, Schedules or Pinboards to your Template Project as you require.

Common Questions:

What is a Template Project?

Many projects have similar sets of deliverables. You may have the same (or similar) tasks, schedule types and design presentations that you complete for each of your studio projects. To save time setting up each of these deliverables from scratch when you start a new project, we suggest you create a Template Project. A Template Project contains the standard board tasks, schedules and pinboards that you would routinely create for a new project. Once the template is duplicated, you can then customise each of these deliverables to suit the specific requirements of your new project.

What Boards should I set up in my template project?

We recommend that you set up each of your boards in your template project according to the design process you follow and the deliverables you achieve in each design phase. For example you can create several template boards with tasks for your different design phases, such as Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Docs etc.

What would a template Schedule include?

You schedules that you set up in your template Project could include the section headings for each section in your schedule and then include placeholder products that you would normally specify for each project. You can also create several templates for different types of schedules in the same project for example Materials & Finishes, Fittings & fixtures, Lighting, etc. See below example set out:

What would a template Pinboard include?

You can set out your Pinboard section headings so that when you start a new project with your template you can then quickly and easily start adding images to your pinboard. See below example:
