About our Xero Integration
Before you begin...
Programa's invoicing tool is built on Stripe's payment infrastructure, so in order to use it, you'll need to set up a Stripe account.
Check out our guide on Getting Started with Invoices for instruction on how to do this.
Connecting to Xero
With Programa, your invoicing and workflow is finally connected and all in one place! Our Xero integration seamlessly connects your Programa account to Xero so there's nothing left to do in Xero besides reconciling your payments.
Note: our Xero integration does not allow anyone at Programa to access your Xero account. This is a one-way sync that sends information from Programa to Xero.
Connect Your Xero Account
Navigate to Invoice Settings (or click here), then click the 'Connect to Xero' button.
Choose your organisation, and you're done!
How to Use Our Xero Integration
Assigning Invoice Items to Xero Accounts
When creating an invoice, simply choose the Xero account each line item should be allocated to within Xero. Only your Revenue accounts will be displayed in the dropdown list.
Synchronising with Xero
Our Xero integration runs in the background so there's nothing you need to do to prompt the synchronisation.
Invoices in Programa are automatically saved to your Xero draft invoices. Once you've sent your invoice through Programa, the draft invoice in Xero will then be marked as 'approved' and will change from draft to 'Awaiting Payment'.
Lastly, once you have received your payment, all you (or your bookkeeper) need to do is reconcile the payment with the invoice within Xero.
