How to edit product information in your Schedule

Update product details, specifications, using your webclipper or URL feature.

This guide shows you how to update existing products in your Schedules using Programa's automated tools, so you can keep product information current without manual data entry.

Update products using the Web Clipper

The Web Clipper Chrome extension lets you capture updated product information directly from supplier websites and apply it to existing products in your Schedules.

Prerequisites: You'll need the Web Clipper extension installed in Chrome before you can use this method.

  1. Navigate to the product page on the supplier's website

  2. Launch the Web Clipper extension in Chrome

  3. Use the Web Clipper to capture the product information and imagery (guide here)

  4. Enter the Doc code of the existing product you want to update in the Doc code field

  5. Click Clip and select the Project, Schedule, and Section containing the product

  6. The product with that Doc code will automatically update with the newly clipped information and imagery

Common scenarios:

  • Multiple products with the same Doc code: The update only applies to products with that Doc code in the specific project, schedule, and section you selected-not across your entire account

  • Don't use Doc codes regularly? Enter a temporary code while using the Web Clipper, then delete it afterward if you don't need it

  • Multiple variants in one section: If you're using Doc codes to track different product options and want to avoid unintended updates, clip the product without a Doc code first, then manually add the code after it's been added to your Schedule

Update products from a URL

The Update from URL tool refreshes existing product information by pulling the latest details directly from the source website. You can use it to update existing product lines as well as placeholders.

  1. Copy the URL from the product page on the supplier's website

  2. Navigate tp the product you want to update in your Schedule

  3. Click on the three dots in your product row

  4. Click the Update from URL button

  5. Paste the product URL into the field

  6. Click Update

What gets updated:

  • Any field that appears on the supplier's website (product name, price, description, images) will replace your current values

  • Fields not included on the website will remain unchanged (your custom notes, quantities, trade prices, etc.)

Note: The Supplier field won't be populated automatically—you'll need to add your supplier rep from your Address Book manually.
