You added a Progressive Web App (PWA) to your device, but the icon is nowhere to be found. Here is exactly how to track it down.
1. Swipe Through Your Other Home Screen Pages
Your device's operating system automatically places new app icons in the first available open slot, which is rarely your primary home screen.
Check every page: Swipe left and right to view all of your home screen panels. New installations frequently drop onto the very last page.
Inspect your folders: If your home screens are completely full, your device might have grouped the new PWA into an existing folder (like "Productivity" or "Other") or created a new folder to make room. Look closely at the mini-icons inside your folders.
2. Search Your Master App List
If the icon isn't sitting on a home screen panel, it might have bypassed the home screen entirely and landed directly in your device's master app directory.
On Android (App Drawer): Swipe up from the bottom of your home screen to open the App Drawer. Scroll through your alphabetical list or type the PWA's name into the top search bar. Once located, long-press the icon and select Add to Home Screen (or drag it manually) to place it where you want it.
On iOS (App Library): Swipe left past all your home screen pages until you reach the App Library. Tap the search bar at the top and type the name of the website. If it appears, long-press the icon and drag it to your preferred home screen.
3. Verify and Redo the Installation
If the PWA is completely absent from your app list, the initial installation did not complete successfully. A momentary connection drop, navigating away too quickly, or a browser glitch likely interrupted the process.
To reinstall it properly:
On Android (Chrome): Open Chrome and navigate back to the website. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select Install app (or Add to Home screen). Tap Install on the pop-up to confirm, and wait a few seconds for the confirmation toast at the bottom of your screen.
On iOS (Safari): Open Safari and load the website. Tap the Share icon (the square with an upward-pointing arrow) at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down the options, tap Add to Home Screen, and critically, make sure to hit Add in the top right corner of the final screen.
