What's Fire OS?
Fire OS is an operating system developed by Amazon for its Fire devices, such as the Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Echo Show. It's based on the Android operating system, but it has been heavily modified by Amazon to integrate with its services and ecosystem. This includes a customized user interface and the replacement of many standard functionalities.
PWA support on Fire OS
Fire OS does not support PWA (Progressive Web App) installation. As a result, even if browsers like Chrome or Samsung Internet, which run on Fire OS, support PWAs, users will not see the "Add to Home Screen" or "Install App" prompts.
Web push support on Fire OS
Fire OS lacks the technical capabilities to run background service workers, which means web push notifications are not supported on this operating system.
PWA on other OS?
If you want to create a PWA that works on Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac (unfortunately, not on Fire OS), try Progressier, the all-in-one no-code PWA toolkit.
