What is a task within ProLine?
First things first, a task in your ProLine account is a unit of work or an activity that needs to be completed, typically within a certain timeframe and can be manually created as needed or automated within campaigns.
See how to add tasks to your campaigns here.
Checklists Under Tasks
Now when you navigate to a task in ProLine, you'll find a dedicated section for checklists near the bottom of the task details. Even if there's a description at the top, the checklist area is distinct and allows you to organize subtasks beneath the main task.
Checklist vs. Task: A checklist is not the same as a parent task. It’s nested under the task, enabling you to break the task into smaller, manageable parts.
Adding Items: You can add checklist items quickly by typing them in and pressing Enter, or by clicking the Create button.
Example Use Case: Scheduling a Job
Consider a task like “Schedule Job.” You might add checklist items such as:
Call customer
Get available dates
Compare with schedule
Check the weather
Finalize project date
Each item can be checked off as completed. ProLine tracks who checked it off and when, which is especially useful when multiple team members collaborate on the same task.
Note: Completing all checklist items does not automatically mark the parent task as complete. You must manually mark the main task done once all items are addressed.
Task Templates and Checklists
A standout feature in ProLine is the ability to embed checklists within task templates. This is particularly useful for recurring processes.
Creating a Task Template with a Checklist
Navigate to Task Templates.
Click Create New Template.
Add your checklist items. For example, for an inspection:
Walk around home
Take photo of front
Say hello to homeowner
Climb on roof
Look for hail damage
Templates can be triggered automatically from a campaign action step. These campaigns can then also be triggered in different stages within your pipeline. Wanting to use this feature? Follow the steps in this video!
