Placing calls to your contacts via ProLine

Calling a Contact

First, ensure that you are currently “logged in as'' the correct ProLine profile. Admin users, and some other users (if allowed) can switch into other team members' ProLine profiles. You will need to be logged into your own ProLine profile on mobile to place outbound calls. In our browser app, on the other hand, outbound calls will originate from the profile you are currently logged into. So make note of what profile you are in before starting a call to make sure you are calling from the right ProLine number.

Look at the ProLine profile Icon in the upper right-hand corner. If you see a smaller profile icon layered on top of yours, you are “logged in as” another team member. Tap on the colored profile icon in the top right corner, and then choose your own name to return to your own profile.

Once you've made sure you are in the right ProLine profile, select the contact you want to call and choose Call [Contact Name]. You will have the call option pretty much everywhere that a contact's name is displayed, including in search results, tasks, and messages. It may look a little different, but anywhere you see the phone icon generally means you can start a call by clicking or tapping it.

If calling from the ProLine mobile app, a prompt will appear to call your ProLine phone number. Follow the prompt, and your contact will receive a call from your ProLine number, just like they would any other call. If calling from the ProLine browser app, the outbound call will immediately start when you click Call [Contact].

After the call, you’ll be prompted to leave a note about the call that will show up in the contact's activity feed. Use this to jot down details to remember later. You’ll also receive a recording of the call (if call recording is enabled) and a log of the call duration.

Dialing a Number

If you need to call a phone number that isn't yet saved as a contact in your ProLine account, you can do so by using the dial pad inside ProLine. For the ProLine mobile app, tap the plus button in the lower left-hand corner of the app. Then, choose the Call option.

For the ProLine browser app, click the plus button in the menu bar, then choose the New Call option.

Punch the number you want to call, and hit the phone button. The phone button will be colored the same as your profile icon, just to remind you of which profile you're currently logged into. If calling from the ProLine mobile app, a prompt will appear to call your ProLine phone number. Follow the prompt, and your contact will receive a call from your ProLine number, just like they would any other call. If calling from the ProLine browser app, the outbound call will immediately start when you click Call [Contact].
