What Is Profile Switching?
Profile Switching allows you to access another team member’s account and view ProLine as if you were logged in as them without needing their credentials.
It’s helpful for checking team members activity, communication, or making updates on their behalf, but be cautious:
Any actions you take ( like sending messages, making calls, or filtering contacts and projects) will reflect that team member’s account, not yours.
For example, if you filter projects on the Project board by My Projects then you will only see the ones assigned to that team member, and won’t see your own.
If you open a message with a contact, you’ll see that team member’s message history, not your own.
If you send a message or call while switched in, it will send or call from that team member’s ProLine number, not yours.
You can update their settings and integrations but cannot change their username or password.
Switching Profiles
Go to your profile icon at the top-right corner of your ProLine account and click it.
A pop-up will appear showing all users in your ProLine account and select the user you want to view by clicking on their name.
Once selected, you’ll see their profile icon next to yours at the top-right. You are now viewing the account as that user.
When finished, repeat Step 1, click your profile icon, and return to viewing your own account.
Access
Admins
By default, admins have unrestricted access to switch into any team member’s profile. This level of access is automatically granted and requires no further configuration.
Other Team Members
If you’d like non-admins (ex: sales managers or team leads) to have this functionality, ProLine allows you to conditionally grant access by configuring it in a permission profile.
Granting Profile Switching Permissions
Click on the hamburger menu (☰) in the top-left corner of the dashboard.
Go to Manage Team
Select the tab Permission Profiles
Choose the profile you’d like to grant access to by clicking the pencil icon to the right of the profile name.
When the configuration pop-up is in view, you will find the option titled Team Member Access which allows access to all team members’ profiles
You can also restrict this access to specific team members by choosing the Limited Team Member Access. This allows you to tailor visibility based on team structure.
Example Use Cases:
Sales managers may need access to reps’ profiles for coaching and review.
Production leads might need visibility into assigned tasks for workload balancing.
