Your company’s ProLine account can contain any number of profiles for different members of your team. Each team member profile has its own ProLine phone number, and consequently its own unique conversation with each contact in your account.
If you are an admin in your ProLine account, or have been granted access by an admin, then you will be able to “switch” into the profiles of your team members without having to log out of ProLine. This is useful for checking on team members or making changes to their profiles without having to actually log in as them, but it can lead to some confusion when it comes to text messaging, calling, and other communication through ProLine.
When you are switched into a team member’s profile, ProLine will behave as if you are logged into their profile with their username and password. For example, if you filter contacts in the folder by “My Contacts” then you will only see contacts assigned to your team member, and won’t see your own.
Similarly, if you open a conversation with a contact, you will see your team member’s conversation with the contact and not yours. This is an important thing to be aware of to make sure you don’t accidentally send a message as your team member (through their ProLine number) when you meant to send it as yourself (with your ProLine number).
Lastly, if you open integrations or settings while in your team member’s profile, then you’ll be able to make changes to their settings and integrations on their behalf. The only thing you won’t be able to make changes to is their username and password.
Switching Profiles
Look for the profile icon (First letter of your name on a color background) in the top right corner of ProLine.
If you see a smaller profile icon layered on the lower left hand corner of your profile icon, then you are currently switched into a team member’s profile.
You will see their conversations with contacts and if you send any text messages you will be sending the messages as their profile through their ProLine phone number.
If you don’t see a smaller profile icon layered on top of yours, then you are using ProLine as your own profile, you will see your conversations with contacts and any messages you send will be sent as yourself through your ProLine number.
Select the profile icon to open the profile pop-up. There, you’ll see the available team member profiles. You can choose any profile in the list to switch into it, or select your own profile from the list to return to your own.
If you don’t see multiple profiles, no worries—it just means you either aren’t an account admin or you haven’t been granted access to any other team member profiles.
