Why Carrier Trust Product Registration Is Important
As of May 2023, phone carriers have cracked down heavily on text messaging and calling in an attempt to eliminate as much text message and call spam as possible. Under the new standards, all digital (A2P/Application to Person) phone numbers are considered guilty until proven innocent and must complete the trust product registrations below or face severe call and text message restrictions, blocking, and additional fees.
Here at ProLine, we've done our best to streamline this process for you by combining the below registrations into a single streamlined registration form. We are committed to making sure every company that uses ProLine can get their Carrier Trust Products fully approved, so don't hesitate to reach out to our support team if you need help.
Included in ProLine's Phone Carrier Registration
Brand Profile Registration — Register your company's full legal details and EIN or BN number with phone carriers so they can assign your company as the official user of your phone numbers.
A2P Brand Profile Registration — A2P stands for "Application to Person." All digital phone numbers are considered "application" numbers, while phone numbers assigned to physical devices are considered "person" numbers. A2P Brand Profile Registration is secondary company brand registration specifically for text messaging.
CNAM Registration — CNAM is short for "Caller Name" and is the official name for branded caller ID. Once registered, your chosen caller ID will appear by default on most phones when calling a contact who doesn't have your number saved.
SHAKEN/STIR Attestation — A proper SHAKEN/STIR registration will usually remove the "spam likely" label that some numbers are flagged with.
Voice Integrity Registration — Another reputation-focused registration to help avoid nuisance labels like "spam likely."
A2P 10 DLC Messaging Campaign Registration — A registration with phone carriers declaring exactly how your company uses text messaging and how contacts opt in and out. This is the most challenging trust product to get approved, but your text messages will be blocked without it.
Starting the Registration
For newcomers to ProLine, initiate the registration by selecting Account Setup in the top right corner and starting the Complete Phone Carrier Registration task.
Existing users who haven't completed this step can find it under hamburger menu (☰) > Company Settings > Phone > Phone Number Registrations > Phone Carrier Registration > Register Now.
The registration form is organized into five sections. Click each dropdown to expand it and complete the fields inside.
Business Information
Open the Business Information dropdown.
Business Name (DBA) — Enter the public name your business uses on your website and in your marketing materials.
Legal Business Name — Enter your company's legal name exactly as it appears on your official documents such as your articles of organization or articles of incorporation. It must match the name on file with the IRS (US) or CRA (Canada), and must end with "LLC," "INC," or an equivalent. Using a DBA name here can lead to registration failure.
Business Type — Choose the registration type that matches your articles of incorporation. Generally, this will be Limited Liability Corporation or Corporation. If this does not match what the IRS or CRA has on file, your registration will fail.
Business Industry — If you're a roofer, choose Construction. If not, choose the industry that best describes your business.
Business Website URL — Enter your business website URL. An active, live website is required for this registration.
Business Email — Enter your business email. If possible, use an
info@yourdomainname.comformat. It's best practice to avoid Gmail or Yahoo addresses.Business Registration ID Type — Select EIN if based in the United States, or BN if based in Canada.
EIN/BN Number — Enter your Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Business Number (BN). This number must exactly match what is on file with the IRS or CRA. For Canada, use only the first 9 digits (BN-9). Double-check this carefully — an incorrect number will cause your registration to fail.
Open the Physical Address dropdown.
Physical Address
Your company must have an easy-to-verify physical presence at the address you provide.
Use the same address listed on your Google My Business and/or your website.
If you don't have a physical office, use the address on your articles of organization or incorporation.
Do not use a PO box — this will be rejected.
Fill in all required fields: Street Address, City, State/Province, Postal Code, and Country.
Open the Company Representative dropdown.
Company Representative
Phone carriers may contact this representative by phone or email to verify their identity and the validity of the information provided.
Fill in the First Name, Last Name, Email, and Phone of the representative.
Fill in their Business Title (e.g., Owner, General Manager, Office Manager).
Select the Job Position that best matches their role.
Make sure the person listed can be reached at the phone number and email you provide.
Open the Branded Caller ID dropdown.
Branded Caller ID
With ProLine, you choose how your company appears on caller ID when calling contacts who haven't saved your number yet. Your caller ID must meet the following criteria:
Limited to 15 characters.
Must be clearly associated with your company.
Abbreviations (when used) must still be clearly associated with your company.
Example: If your company's name is North River Roofing Company:
❌ You can't use the full name — it's more than 15 characters.
❌ You can't use "Roofing" or "Roofing Co" — too generic.
❌ You can't use "NR Roofing" — not unique to your company.
✅ Recommended options: North River or N River Roofing.
Enter your chosen caller ID in the Your Requested Caller ID field and open the SMS Consent & Privacy Policy dropdown.
SMS Consent & Privacy Policy
This section confirms that your website meets the consent, privacy policy, and terms and conditions requirements needed for carrier approval. All three items are required.
1. Consents on Website Forms

The checkboxes must be present but must not be required — if the form forces users to select one before submitting, the carrier will reject the registration.

Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out anytime. Reply HELP for assistance. See our privacy policy [Insert link] and terms and conditions [Insert link] for more details.
Checkbox 2 — Non-marketing consent:
I consent to receive non-marketing text messages from [Your Company Name] for service-related communications including responding to inquiries, scheduling and appointment reminders, follow-ups regarding projects and project updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out anytime. Reply HELP for assistance. See our privacy policy [Insert link] and terms and conditions [Insert link] for more details.
2. Privacy Policy
Your website must have a Privacy Policy page that includes the following:
Statement of non-sharing for phone numbers.
Statement on expected text message frequency.
"Message and data rates may apply" disclosure.
3. Terms and Conditions
Your website must have a Terms and Conditions page that includes the following:
A statement explaining that phone numbers will be used to respond to customer requests and project-related communications, and that you only send text messages to contacts who have expressly opted in.
Instructions for canceling the SMS service by texting "STOP."
Instructions for getting help by replying "HELP."
A statement that carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

You will also be asked to check three acknowledgment boxes confirming you authorize ProLine to make the changes, understand that ProLine is not a website design service, and accept liability for the privacy policy being published.
💡 Your login credentials will only be used to make the appropriate installation of the required disclaimers and policies. They will not be used for any other purpose.
Submit Registration
After completing all sections, green check marks will confirm each section is complete. Press Submit at the bottom of the form to initiate the review process.
Review Process
ProLine will review your registration first. Once approved, it will be submitted to the carriers and you will be able to choose a phone number for your account.
It typically takes about two weeks to hear back from carriers. You'll receive a notification in ProLine with either an approval or detailed feedback. If changes are needed, update your information and resubmit for approval.
