In this article, we cover:

ProLine offers a variety of pre-built templates that make it easy to manage your price list. This article will guide you through the process of editing these templates and importing your price list effectively.

Understanding Pre-built Templates

ProLine comes with pre-built templates that include a default price list. These templates are designed to integrate seamlessly with ProLine's quoting system, allowing you to quickly get up and running.

To access the price list:

  • hamburger menu > Company Settings > Quotes. Scroll down until you see the Price List menu.

Editing the Existing Price List

For the fastest setup, just edit the existing price list items in ProLine. These items are already integrated with the pre-built quote templates, allowing you to be able to start sending quotes quickly.

  1. Navigate to hamburger menu > Company Settings > Quotes

  2. Select a price list item to edit.

  3. Update the pricing and names as needed.

Importing a Price List in Bulk

While editing the existing price list is recommended, you can import a price list in bulk.

To import a price list:

  1. Download the current price list from ProLine:

    • hamburger menu > Company Settings > Quotes > Download Price List

  2. Edit the downloaded file:

    • Do not change the names of the items to ensure existing items are updated.

    • Update the calculations, minimum quantity, description, and type as needed.

  3. Re-import the edited file into ProLine:

    • hamburger menu > Company Settings > Quotes > Import Price List

Best Practices for Bulk Import

When importing your price list in bulk, follow these best practices to maintain the integrity of your data and templates:

  • Download Current Price List: Use the existing price list as a template to ensure correct formatting.

  • Edit Without Changing Names: Maintain the current item names to update existing items instead of creating new ones.

  • Verify Data: Double-check all calculations and descriptions before re-importing.

  • Step-by-Step Import: Import in stages if the list is extensive to catch any errors early.

If you choose to start from scratch, you can delete all existing price list items and import your own. However, this process requires rebuilding all your quote templates, which can be time-consuming.
