The "Pause Sequence" Campaign Step

Learn how to add a pause sequence in your ProLine campaign to delay actions for a specified time.

Adding a pause sequence to your campaign allows you to manage the timing of your campaign actions more effectively. It will hold the campaign for a specified duration before proceeding to the next step. This can be particularly useful for follow-up or lead nurture campaigns where you need to introduce a delay between actions.

How to Add a New Step to Your Campaign

  1. Access the Campaign Editor: Navigate to:

    • Hamburger menu > Campaigns > Choose a campaign folder and click on Open Folder > Choose a campaign and click on Edit Campaign.

    • A campaign's stage triggers (gear icon) > View Campaign. Note: this might not be possible if the stage has no triggers or if the stage triggers have no campaigns.

  2. Locate the Plus Button:

    • For a pre-built campaign, scroll to the bottom to find the + button.

    • For a new campaign, the + button will be at the top.

  3. Click the Plus Button: Clicking the + button will add a new step. The new step will default to the "disabled" action.

  4. Select "Pause Sequence" from the dropdown: This will switch the step to the Pause Sequence type. Don't forget to save.

Configuring the Pause Sequence

Once you've added the pause sequence, configure the timing details to fit your campaign's needs:

  1. Set the delay:

    • At the top of the pause sequence step, you'll find the Wait section.

    • Enter the number of days, hours, and minutes you want to delay the campaign at this step.

  2. Ensure the pause sequence starts immediately: Keep this setting to ensure the pause begins as soon as the previous step is completed.

  3. Customize the delay: Adjust the delay according to your specific campaign needs. For example:

    • In a follow-up campaign, you might want to add a 7-day pause before sending a follow-up message.

    • For lead nurturing, you might set a 2-week delay before the next communication step.

Practical Example

To add a 3-day pause in your campaign:

  1. Navigate to your campaign in the campaign builder.

  2. Click the plus button to add a new step.

  3. In the dropdown menu, select Pause Sequence.

  4. In the Wait section, set the delay to 3 days.
