Accessing Default Folder Settings
To begin configuring your default folders:
Navigate to your Company Settings.
Click on the Projects tab.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Default Folders section.
This area lets you define a set of folders that will automatically populate each time a new project is created, eliminating the need to add repetitive folders manually.
Adding a Default Folder
To add a new folder:
Click the Add Folder button.
Choose a color for the folder (optional but helpful for visual organization).
Enter a name for the folder (e.g., "Permits").
Click Create.
Once added, this folder will now appear in every new project by default. This feature is particularly useful for teams that consistently require certain types of documents across all projects, such as "Insurance Documents" or "Permits."
Managing Folder Access
After creating your folders, you have the option to control access using the lock feature:
Click the lock icon next to the folder.
Choose the access level:
All team members
Restricted by profile (e.g., managers only)
Admins only
This function is valuable for folders that may contain sensitive or confidential information, such as billing or legal documents. Even when access is restricted by profile, admins will always retain access.
Once your preferences are selected, simply close the settings window—your access choices are automatically saved.
Customizing Individual Projects
While default folders provide a standardized structure, ProLine allows flexibility. You can still manually add additional folders to specific projects as needed. This ensures that each project can be customized beyond the default setup when required.
Remember, these changes will only affect new projects. Existing projects will retain their original folder structure unless manually updated.
