In this article, we cover:

The structure page in ProLine is designed to streamline the process of quoting projects involving multiple structures, such as a main home and a garage. By utilizing this feature, you can create separate options and upgrades for each structure, making the quoting process more flexible and organized.

Structure Pages

Users have the flexibility to decide whether they want to utilize the structure page or not. Without it, all options and upgrades would be bundled into a single set, which might necessitate sending multiple quotes for projects with multiple structures.

The structure page, however, simplifies the management of common line items across different options. By centralizing common items, such as construction materials, within the structure section, users can maintain consistency and efficiency for projects with one or multiple structures. Unique items specific to each option can then be listed separately, so that only the differences between options are highlighted.

These are some examples on how to categorize certain line items in this context:

  • Common Line Items: Include items like coil nails, caulk, and OSB board in the structured line item area. These are common between all options and simplify management when used in a structure page.

  • Unique Line Items: Different items, such as specific shingle types (good/better/best), should be added to the option pages within the structure. Items such as gutters or pipe boots can be included in upgrade pages.

Using a pre-built CertainTeed quote template, you can see common line items included in the structure page (blue) while options and upgrades (green) are nestled as subpages:

Sub-Option Pages

Option pages in ProLine are designed to present different choices or alternatives for a particular structure or project. For multi-structure quotes, we want these pages to appear as subpages nestled under a structure page.

Each option can include a variety of features, materials, or configurations that clients can choose from. For example, an option page might offer different roofing materials such as good/better/best shingles, tiles, or metal roofing.

Sub-option pages inherit their structure page's line items.

Sub-Upgrade Pages

Upgrade pages, on the other hand, provide additional enhancements or premium features that can be added to the project. For multi-structure quotes, we want these pages to appear as subpages nestled under a structure page.

Upgrades are typically supplementary and offer a way to enhance the base options chosen by the client. For example, an upgrade page might include options for premium insulation or high-end finishes.

Sub-upgrade pages do not inherit their structure page's line items.

It's important to note that upgrades do not carry structured line items; this feature is only available for option pages.

Generating Quotes for Multi-Structure Projects

When generating a quote with multiple structures, ProLine will automatically duplicate the structure page for each structure specified in your measurement report:

How to Create a Measurement Report with Multiple Structures:

In the project's measurement tab, create a measurement report that reflects multiple structures (e.g., a main home and a garage, or different roof types) by following these steps:

  1. In the project's Measure tab, click on New Report.

  2. To add new structures, simply click on the Add Structure button.

  3. Fill in the relevant measurements and proceed to create a quote.
