Overview
When adding or editing a team member, you will assign them one of two user types: Regular or Limited. User types are not the same as permissions — they control which ProLine features a team member has access to, not what they can see or edit within those features.
💡 A Limited user can still be set as an Admin and have full editing access to your account. User type and permission level are configured separately.
User Types
Regular
The Regular user type is for team members who need the full functionality of ProLine. Regular users have a ProLine number, can connect their email and calendar to ProLine, can be assigned to Projects and Events, and can have automated workflows send communication as them. This user type requires a paid seat.
Use Regular for: sales reps, office managers, project managers, or anyone who communicates with customers through ProLine or needs things assigned to them.
Limited
The Limited user type is for people who need access to your ProLine account but don't need a ProLine number, email/calendar connection, or project assignments. Limited users do not require a paid seat, so you can add as many as needed at no additional cost.
Use Limited for: bookkeepers, marketing staff who don't interact with customers directly, or outside consultants who aren't set up as Super Admins.
How to Change a Team Member's User Type
Click the hamburger menu (☰) in the top-left corner.
Select Manage Team.
Click the team member's name to expand their profile.
Under User Type, click Change or Upgrade to switch between Regular and Limited.
Click Save.
Don't Forget: Permissions Still Apply
Regardless of user type, every team member still needs a permission level configured. If you add someone as an Admin, they will have full control over your account settings. For most non-owner team members, you will want to set them as Restricted and assign a Permission Profile to control exactly what they can access.
💡 For more on permissions, see Manage Team: Permission Profiles.
