Airalo Coupon EDCC10 – Fix Every Reason the 10% Discount Gets Rejected

Airalo Coupon EDCC10 gives 10% off an eSIM purchase. Here is why the code sometimes fails at checkout and how to fix each cause before you pay.

Airalo Coupon EDCC10 is a promotional code that takes 10% off an Airalo eSIM purchase, entered at checkout on the Airalo website or in the Airalo app. When it works, the effect is visible immediately: the order total drops to 90% of the listed price, and dividing the pre-discount total by ten tells you exactly what you saved. When it does not work, the screen rarely explains why. This article walks through the specific things that stop a code like this from attaching to an order, and what to do about each one.

Start by reading the total, not the message

The single most reliable test of whether the coupon has applied is the number at the bottom of the checkout screen. Enter EDCC10, submit it, and then check whether the total has fallen by 10%. If it has, the code is attached and nothing else needs investigating. If it has not, the code has not attached — regardless of any confirmation-looking text on screen.

This matters because discount fields on any store can behave in ways that look successful without being successful: the field clears, the page reloads, a code appears in a summary line with no value next to it. Treating the total as the only source of truth removes all of that ambiguity. Do the division before you pay, not after.

Cause one: the code is competing with a referral discount

This is the structural problem behind most confusion at Airalo, and it is worth understanding properly because no amount of retyping will fix it. Airalo runs two separate discount systems. A coupon such as EDCC10 is a promotional code you enter at checkout to reduce the transaction price. A referral code is a different mechanism: it gives a new customer US$3 off their first purchase, and gives the person who referred them US$3 of Airmoney credit once that first purchase completes. Referral codes are generated inside the app, in the profile area under "Refer and Earn".

Airalo allows only one discount per transaction. A referral code and a promo code cannot be stacked. So if you arrived through a referral link, or a referral code was applied to your account or basket earlier in the flow, the coupon has nothing left to do — the slot is taken.

The fix is to decide which discount you want rather than trying to have both. Clear whatever discount is already sitting on the order, then apply the one you have chosen on its own. Which one to choose is arithmetic: the referral is a flat US$3, the coupon is 10% of your basket. On a small purchase a flat US$3 can easily beat 10%; on a larger basket, such as a month-long global plan or a regional package spanning several countries, 10% pulls ahead. Existing customers do not have this decision to make at all, because a first-purchase referral discount is not available to them.

Cause two: something is wrong with the string you typed

Coupon fields are usually literal. They match what you submit against a stored value, and near-misses fail silently. The code is EDCC10 and it should be entered exactly as written, with no spaces.

  • A trailing space picked up when copying and pasting. This is the most common invisible fault — the field looks correct because the space cannot be seen. Delete the field contents and type the seven characters by hand.

  • Autocorrect or predictive text inserting a capital, a space or a substituted character, particularly on a phone keyboard in the app.

  • A partial paste, where only part of the code made it into the field.

  • Characters left over from a previous attempt, so the field contains the code twice or the code plus fragments of another.

  • Typing the letter O in place of the digit 0, or the digit 1 in place of a letter. Mixed letter-and-number codes invite this.

The practical routine is: select everything in the field, delete it, type the code manually, then submit. If it still does not take, do the same again on the other platform — if you were in the app, try the website, and vice versa. The coupon applies at checkout on either.

Cause three: another code is already in the basket

Because only one discount applies per transaction, a second promotional code left over from an earlier browsing session will block EDCC10 just as effectively as a referral will. Open the order summary and look for any existing discount line. Remove it, then apply the coupon on its own and re-read the total.

Airmoney adds a wrinkle here. Airmoney is Airalo's own store credit; it appears as a payment method at checkout and can buy any Airalo eSIM or top-up package. It can be used alongside another payment method by selecting that method and then choosing "Apply Code/Use Airmoney". Note that this is the same area of checkout used for entering codes. Whether EDCC10 can sit on top of an Airmoney balance is not something we can confirm, so treat that combination as untested. If you hold Airmoney and the coupon will not apply, the cleanest diagnostic is to apply the coupon first, with no Airmoney selected, and see whether the total drops by 10%.

Cause four: an unconfirmed restriction on the offer

Some rejections are not user error. We cannot confirm whether EDCC10 carries an expiry date, a minimum spend, or exclusions on particular plan types. That is not a reason to expect it to fail; it is a reason to test it early rather than at the final click.

If you are buying something out of the ordinary, enter the code as soon as the code field appears and watch how the total responds before committing to the purchase. Airalo sells local eSIMs for a single country, regional eSIMs covering multiple countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, North America and Oceania, global eSIMs with worldwide coverage, and unlimited plans that give 3 GB of high-speed data per 24-hour period before dropping to 1 Mbps, with the allowance resetting every 24 hours from activation. Durations are typically a week, two weeks or a month. If the coupon attaches to one basket and not another, the difference between those two baskets is your answer.

The problem a working coupon cannot fix

There is one failure mode that has nothing to do with the code and cannot be repaired at checkout. An Airalo plan requires a device that is eSIM-compatible and network-unlocked. An eSIM is an embedded, reprogrammable SIM chip built into the phone's hardware, which is why a plan can be downloaded without a physical card arriving in the post — but the hardware has to be there, and the handset must not be locked to a carrier. eSIM itself is carrier-independent, so which operator you normally use is irrelevant; only the lock matters.

Check compatibility and unlock status before you spend anything. A 10% discount on a product your phone cannot run is not a saving. Installation, once you have bought, comes in three forms: Direct, which is the fastest, Manual, or QR code.

A clean retry sequence

  1. Confirm the phone is eSIM-compatible and network-unlocked.

  2. Open the basket and remove every existing discount, referral code or leftover promotional code.

  3. Deselect Airmoney if it is selected as a payment method.

  4. Clear the code field completely and type EDCC10 by hand, with no spaces.

  5. Submit, then divide the pre-discount total by ten and check the new total has fallen by that amount.

  6. If nothing changed, repeat the same steps on the other platform — app if you were on the website, website if you were in the app.

  7. If it still will not apply, compare 10% of your basket against the flat US$3 referral credit and use whichever is larger, assuming you are eligible for the referral.

Why timing gives you room to troubleshoot

One feature of how Airalo plans work makes all of this far less stressful than it would otherwise be. Every plan is prepaid, with no contract, and plans can be topped up or switched at any time. Crucially, a plan's validity period begins when the eSIM first connects to a local network it can use — not when you pay. Buy a plan for a given country and the usage window opens the moment you connect to a network there.

That means you can buy days before departure without burning validity, which in turn means you can afford to work through a code problem calmly at home rather than in an airport with boarding about to start. Airalo covers more than 200 countries and regions and states that over 30 million people have used it, with apps rated 4.7 out of 5 on iOS and 4.6 out of 5 on Android and available in 53 languages — so if you do need to compare behaviour between app and website while testing the coupon, both routes are properly supported. Sort the discount early, then install on arrival and let the clock start when you land.

Promotional terms, eligibility and values are set by the provider and can change at any time. Always confirm the current terms on the official site before signing up or completing a purchase.
