The "When an item is added to cart" trigger is available for Shopify users only.
Cart Add Trigger is a feature that lets you show a display at the moment a visitor adds an item to their cart — ideal for showing recommended products or time-limited coupons.
How it works
The trigger fires when the "Add to Cart" button is pressed on a product page.
Options
Which pages to show on | Restrict the trigger to specific product page URLs to target particular products. (The "Cart contents" filter under Target Users evaluates at page load — not at the moment of cart add — so use page URL restrictions for product-specific targeting.) |
Notes
This trigger does not work on stores that automatically redirect to the cart page after adding an item. In that case, show the display on the cart page instead:
Set the trigger to "Show immediately"
Under "Which pages to show on", set: URL contains → /cart
Under "Target users" → "Cart contents", set: user has a specific product in their cart
Save
With this setup, the flow becomes: add to cart → redirect to cart page → display appears.
