The "When an item is added to cart" trigger is available for Shopify users only.
Cart Add Trigger is a feature that displays a popup at the exact moment a visitor adds an item to their cart — ideal for showing recommended products, upsell offers, or time-limited coupons.
How it works
The trigger fires when the visitor clicks the "Add to Cart" button on a product page.
Key settings
Which pages to show on — Restrict the trigger to specific product page URLs to target particular products. The "Cart contents" filter under Target Users evaluates at page load — not at the moment of cart add — so use page URL restrictions for product-specific targeting.
Notes
This trigger does not work on stores that automatically redirect to the cart page after adding an item. In that case, show the display on the cart page instead:
Set the trigger to "Show immediately"
Under "Which pages to show on", set: URL contains → /cart
Under "Target users" → "Cart contents", set: user has a specific product in their cart
Save
With this setup, the flow becomes: add to cart → redirect to cart page → display appears.
