Teaser overlapping other elements — Troubleshooting

Fix a teaser that overlaps menus, live chat buttons, or other UI elements by adjusting the offset settings in Promolayer.

If your teaser is overlapping menus, a live chat button, or other UI elements, adjusting the offset settings will move it clear of those elements.

Common causes

  • No offset value is set for the direction where the overlap is occurring (top / bottom / left / right).

  • The desktop and mobile offsets are configured separately, and one device has not been updated.

  • A third-party widget (live chat, cookie banner, etc.) uses a fixed position that coincides with the teaser's anchor point.

Steps

  1. Open the teaser settings in the Promolayer editor.

  2. Locate the Offset fields and identify which direction the overlap is happening (top, bottom, left, or right).

  3. Increase the offset value for that direction until the teaser clears the overlapping element.

  4. Switch to the Mobile preview and repeat the check. Desktop and mobile offsets are independent.

  5. Save your changes and preview the page on a live device or browser to confirm the overlap is resolved.
