In order to qualify for a late protest due to a medical emergency you must file an appeal with the Appraisal Review Board (ARB). The ARB will determine if your medical emergency qualifies as "good cause." You must file this appeal with the ARB before they certify the tax roll, which is usually by July 20th every year.
