APN stands for Assessor's Parcel Number — the unique identifier a county assessor assigns to every parcel of land. If you already know the APN for a parcel you want to look at, searching by APN is the fastest way to pull it up directly without browsing the map.
How to Search by APN
Open the SearchAI search bar and select APN Search from the search type dropdown. Type the APN and Prophetic will return the matching parcel. Click the result to open the full property panel.
APN Formatting by State
APN formats vary by county — some use hyphens, some use spaces, some are purely numeric, and some include letters. If your search returns no results, try entering the APN without any hyphens or spaces and see if the unformatted version matches. For example, if the county record shows "123-456-789", try searching "123456789" as well.
When to Use APN Search
APN search is most useful when:
You have a parcel number from a county record, title document, or due diligence report and want to pull it up immediately
A colleague or broker has shared a specific APN and you need to review the parcel
You're cross-referencing a list of APNs from an external source against Prophetic data
You've already located a parcel on the county assessor's website and want to bring it into Prophetic for full analysis
Multiple APNs
If you need to look up several APNs, search them one at a time and save each to a project as you go. There's no bulk APN import currently — if you have a large list to work through, contact support to discuss options.
