Start with the Getting Started with Custom Templates article to learn the basics.

The Letterhead section of the Template Builder defines the visual and informational header of your document. This is where you set your law firm’s branding, contact information, and recipient details. A clear, professional letterhead helps establish the right tone for your generated documents.

📍 Where to find the Template Builder

  1. Open the Navigation Bar.

  2. Click on the Main Navigation sub menu.

  3. Select Templates.

  4. Open your desigered template and select Letterhead from the Template Sections panel.

This will open the Template Builder, your workspace for designing, organizing, and previewing your custom document templates.

Default Letterhead Blocks

When you first open the Letterhead tab, several default blocks appear to help you get started:

  • Firm Branding – Upload your logo or display your firm name in stylized text at the top of the document.

  • Firm Address and Contact Info – Add your mailing address, phone number, email, or website, typically placed beneath or beside the branding.

  • Recipient Address – Fields that automatically populate with the recipient’s name, organization, and mailing address during document generation.

  • Subject Line – A short introduction to the document’s purpose (e.g., “RE: Personal Injury Claim – John Doe”).

These defaults provide a standard layout but can be fully customized.

Adding and Customizing Blocks

You can add as many blocks as needed to your letterhead layout. Each block can be:

  • Text – Paragraphs, headings, or dynamic placeholders (e.g., Client Name, Case Number)

  • Image – Logos, firm seals, or other branding elements

To add a block:

  1. Click Add Block in the Letterhead tab.

  2. Choose Text Block or Image Block.

  3. Drag and arrange blocks in your preferred order.

  4. Use the block editor to format text, add variables, or upload images.

Best Practices

  • Keep the letterhead clean and uncluttered.

  • Use dynamic variables for names and addresses so you can reuse the same template across cases.

  • Test your layout in the live preview pane to ensure proper alignment before saving.

Once your letterhead is complete, move on to building your document content.
