Default Folders

The Default Folders feature in ProPlaintiff.ai helps you keep all your case files organized from the start. Each time you create a new case, these folders will be automatically generated, so you can stay consistent across every case in your organization.

šŸ“ Where to Find Default Folders

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Click the Default Folders tab under the Organization section.

System Folders

ProPlaintiff.ai includes three system folders that cannot be deleted or removed:

  • Uncategorized

  • Intake Forms

  • Medical Treatments

These folders are locked because they help maintain core document organization across the platform.

Pre-Set Folders (Editable and Deletable)

Below the system folders, you will see additional pre-set folders such as:

  • Legal Analysis

  • Damages

  • Future Care

  • Media

  • Billing

  • Communications

  • Liens/Subrogation

  • HIPAA Releases

  • Settlement Documents

  • Attorney Notes

  • Litigation

How Default Folders Work

  • System Folders: These are automatically created for every new case.

    • The Uncategorized, Intake Forms, and Medical Treatments folders are system-generated and cannot be deleted.

  • Pre-Set Folders: The additional folders provided (e.g., Legal Analysis, Damages, Future Care) can be renamed or deleted based on your preferences.

  • Custom Folders: You can create up to 20 default folders per organization and customize them however you like.

Customizing Your Folders

  • Edit Folder Names: Click the Edit icon next to a folder name to rename it according to your organizational needs.

  • Delete Folders: Click the Delete icon if a folder is not required for your workflow.

  • Create New Folders: Add new folders using the Add Default Folder button at the top of the page.

Organize and name folders according to how you want to structure case files. The AI does not rely on your folder organization when analyzing documents—folder names are purely for your internal organization and convenience.

Uploading Case Files

When you upload case files to a case:

  • The system will automatically place files into folders it deems most appropriate.

  • You can also drag and drop files into any folder manually for full control over your organization.

Tips for Best Practices

  • Keep folder names simple and descriptive for your team.

  • Use custom folders for case-specific workflows or unique practice areas.

  • Review your Default Folder setup periodically to ensure it aligns with your organization’s needs.
