Welcome to the guide on using Proserva for Portfolio Reviewers. This article will walk you through the steps of navigating and utilizing the Proserva platform for reviewing educational portfolios. Whether you're a new user or need a refresher, this guide is here to help.

Step 1: Accessing the Review Portal

Log into your Proserva account. Upon successful login, you will land on the teacher portal. This portal assists teachers with various tasks, including PD and licenses for portfolio review.

Navigate to the review portal by clicking on the dropdown next to your profile at the top right of the page and select "Reviewer Portal".

Step 2: Reviewing Assigned Portfolios

In the review portal, you will see a list of portfolios assigned to you. PELSB conducts an initial eligibility review to ensure all documentation is present for you to assess the candidate.

Click on a portfolio in the 'Initial Review' stage to start the review process.

Step 3: Understanding the Portfolio Layout

At the top of the portfolio page, you will find the candidate's details, including their name, email address, and information about the license they are applying for.

Below the candidate's information, you will see the portfolio's 'Recent Activity' and the main 'To Do' sections. These sections track the portfolio's progress through various stages, such as 'Initial Review' and 'Final Review'.

Step 4: Conducting the Initial Review

In the 'To Do' section, click on 'Initial Review' to begin assessing the portfolio's content.

You will be redirected to the 'Standards' tab, where you can see the standard subparts that need reviewing. You can toggle between 'Card View' and 'List View' for your convenience.

Review each standard by clicking on it. Read through the evidence and reasoning provided by the candidate. You can download and review attachments as necessary.

Leave comments and feedback for each standard. During the initial review, these comments are private and only visible to you.

Step 5: Making Decisions and Voting

After reviewing a standard, decide whether to approve or reject it based on the evidence provided. Your decision will be indicated by a color code (red for rejection and green for approval).

If you change your mind or make a mistake, you can delete your comment and change your vote from 'Reject' to 'Approve'.

Review and vote on all items assigned to you.

Step 6: Moving to Final Review

Once all items have been reviewed, PELSB will move the portfolio from 'Initial Review' to 'Final Review'.

In 'Final Review', your comments become visible to fellow reviewers. You will collaborate to give final approval or rejection for each standard.

The final decision on each item will be recorded, and the portfolio's status will be updated accordingly.

Step 7: Completing the Review Process

After the final review is complete, the portfolio's status will be updated to reflect its completion. If approved, it will be returned to the candidate.

If you have any questions or require assistance with the Proserva platform during the review process, use the chat support feature at the bottom right of the page. For PELSB questions contact your PELSB representative.

Conclusion

Using Proserva for portfolio review is a straightforward process designed to ensure a thorough and fair evaluation of each candidate's qualifications. By following these steps, you can efficiently navigate through the review process and contribute to the professional development of aspiring educators.

Remember, if you encounter any difficulties or have questions about using Proserva, don't hesitate to reach out for support through the platform's chat feature or contact your designated PELSB contact.
