If a track is locked, you can't use it in a mix yet - but ask the label manager for help!

If a track is LOCKED in your Track Stack or tracklist builder,  this means the music label has prevented a specific track or their entire catalog* from being used in DJ Mixes on Spotify & Apple Music. You cannot use this track in your mix unless the music label unlocks the track.

To get a specific track unlocked, we recommend reaching out directly to the manager of the music label. If they want to unlock the track, they can follow the steps below.

How to Unlock a Track for DJ Mixes on Spotify & Apple Music
This can only be done by the music label itself:

  1. Find the release inside SoundSystem.

  2. Click "Edit" on the specific track.

  3. Go to the "Details & Settings" tab inside the track editor.

  4. Find the checkbox "DO NOT COMPILE" - and turn this box OFF.

After clicking the box, the track will appear unlocked after 24 hours on the Proton site.

*Note: If you see that every track on a music label is locked, this means the music label does not allow their tracks to be used in DJ Mixes on Spotify & Apple Music yet. Try reaching out to the music label and asking if they'd change their mind?
