First: congrats on lining up a premiere for your upcoming release!

At Proton, we do NOT trigger takedowns on SoundCloud or YouTube when someone else uploads your track. This means any channel is safely able to upload your premiere without risking any copyright strike or takedown.

What about whitelisting? The channel says I need to do that.

  • SOUNDCLOUD - No whitelisting is required on SoundCloud for your premiere, because Proton does NOT trigger takedowns on SoundCloud. You're good to go.

  • YOUTUBE - No whitelisting is required on YouTube either, because uploads there are automatically monetized for the label and artists. Proton does not offer whitelisting for entire channels, but if you want, you can ask Proton to disable monetization on the YouTube premiere. When you do this, the channel gets all the money for the premiere, with no money going to you or the artists.

If you want to disable monetization for a YouTube video, send the video URL to support@protonradio.com and ask our team for help.
