Until April 2023, Instagram only allowed a single link URL to be included in your bio/profile. If you wanted/needed multiple links, then a third-party service like Link Tree was required. This limitation led to the popular phrase social media phrase, "Link in Bio!"
Instagram has now introduced a feature allowing you to include up to 5 links in your bio, which can be customized and arranged according to your preference, streamlining the process and eliminating the need for third-party services, and making it easier to send fans and followers to other destinations beyond Instagram.
Important Note: Setting up multiple links can ONLY be done on the Instagram mobile app. You CANNOT set this up in a desktop browser!
However, once setup, multiple links are VISIBLE on Desktop. ✅
How to put external links in your Instagram bio:
Step 1: Log into your profile on the Instagram Mobile App.
Step 2: Tap "Edit Profile".
Step 3: Tap the "Links" section to add up to 5 links.
Step 4 : Tap "Add external link".
Step 5: Enter the URL and customize the title.
Step 6 - Tap “Done” to save your changes.
