How can artists & labels access Spotify Clips?

Spotify Clips is currently in beta and not available yet for all artists and labels. However, you can apply for early access and join the waitlist by going here.

What are Spotify Clips?

Spotify clips are concise mobile friendly vertical videos that are 30 seconds or less. These short videos can then be connected to a track or release. Fans can discover and watch these clips via release pages, artist profiles, and other places throughout Spotify. We see Spotify Clips as an answer/competitor to TikTok & reels/stories on Meta.

Spotify Clips are not uploaded by fans and listeners -- yet. For now, they're only able to be uploaded by artists and their team within Spotify for Artists.

How can I upload a Clip?

Important: Spotify Clips is currently in closed beta and not yet available to all artists and labels. See the link at the top of this article to apply for early access to the closed beta.

If you have access already, here's how to upload:

Step 1: Open Spotify for Artists and navigate to the video dashboard. On desktop or mobile, click the "Create a Clip" card, or on desktop, click the "Video" tab.

Step 2: Start the upload process by clicking the "Upload Video" button. Ensure the clips are in a vertical orientation, with a minimum height of 1280px and width of 1080px. They should be in MP4 format and have a duration between 3 and 30 seconds.

Step 3: Provide the necessary video details. Include a descriptive caption for the clip, tag it with one of your releases, specify if it contains explicit content, and choose the thumbnail image for the video.

Step 4: Carefully review and accept the terms & conditions for using Clips.
