What is Heads Down Mode?
When you're in Heads Down mode, you don't read or review books. Instead, you earn 5,000 snaps automatically each month. Then you can use those saved snaps to rack up reviews for your new book right when it launches!
Who is it for?
Busy authors who don't have time to read, or are waiting for their next book release.
What does it cost?
It costs $29.99 per month, the same as our normal monthly subscription.
If you are currently on an annual subscription, your billing would remain the same.
How does it work?
Authors automatically earn 5,000 snaps per month while in HDM
Snaps earned while in HDM are added to your account upon your return
You will not be able to request reviews while in HDM
You will not be able to sign up for assignments while in HDM
Once you exit HDM, you will stop earning snaps automatically
Once you exit HDM, you will continue paying the regular subscription fee
You can keep track of your progress in the yellow widget on your dashboard
Once you exit HDM, you will receive your snaps. You can then spend them on reviews. You will also be able to sign up for assignments again.
How do I enter HDM?
To enter HDM:
Go to Account Settings
Click Subscription in the left sidebar
Click Cancel Subscription
When prompted, select: I'm waiting for my next book to be published
Click Okay, let's try it!
You can stay updated on how long you've been in HDM—and how many snaps you've earned—at any time. Simply:
Go to your Author Dashboard
Scroll down to the yellow HDM widget
On the first day, you may see a slight display error. You may see -5000 accumulated snaps on day 1. Rest assured this will update correctly the next day. If you decide to exit heads down mode the same day you start, you will not actually have 5000 snaps removed.
How do I exit HDM?
To exit HDM:
Go to your Author Dashboard
Scroll down to the yellow HDM widget
Click EXIT HEADS DOWN MODE
