Wondering where your review is? This article explains Pubby’s due dates, late review handling, and Amazon approval timelines so you can better understand what’s happening behind the scenes.
Our Due Date ⏰
When a reader accepts an assignment, they are asked to complete and submit their review by the due date.
To help keep things on track, we send reminder emails:
On the due date
24 hours after the due date
These reminders are designed to gently prompt completion if the reader needs a nudge.
What Happens If a Review Is Late?
If a review is not submitted within 2 days after the due date, Pubby will take action to keep the process moving smoothly.
📘 Standard & Kindle Unlimited (KU) Reviews
If the review is not submitted within 2 days, the assignment is automatically canceled.
A new reader is assigned to replace it.
🛒 Verified Purchase (VP) Reviews
If the review is not submitted within 2 days, the VP request is canceled.
Snaps are refunded instead of assigning a new reader.
Authors must manually request a new VP review if they want to try again.
This ensures book pricing and purchase data remain accurate for readers.
Amazon Approval Timeline 🧾
Once a reader submits their review on Amazon and turns in their assignment on Pubby, the review must still go through Amazon’s approval process.
Key Timing Details:
Amazon may take up to 10 days to approve written reviews.
The approval window begins when the reader turns in the assignment, not when they start reading.
Star ratings may appear before written comments are visible.
We allow up to 46 days for the full review (including written content) to appear on Amazon and be pulled into your Pubby dashboard.
Once approved, you will see a “Copy Link” option next to the review in your dashboard.
If a Review Doesn’t Appear
If the review cannot be located:
Friendly reminders are sent to the reader
If still not found after 46 days, the assignment is canceled for Standard and KU reviews and a new reader is assigned
For VP reviews, the request is canceled and snaps are refunded
During this waiting period, assignments cannot be canceled early while Amazon is still processing the review.
Extended Assignments 🔄
Readers are allowed to extend an assignment once if they need extra time.
This helps readers finish books fully and reduces unnecessary cancellations. Multiple extensions are not allowed.
