Wondering where your review is? Learn about our various processes for late reviews.

Our Due Date

When submitting a review, we kindly request that the reader do so by the due date. We'll send a gentle email reminder the day of the due date, as well as 24 hours after the due date, just in case they need a little nudge.

Our main priority is to make this process as smooth and stress-free for authors as possible, so in the rare event that your review is not received within 2 days after the due date, our system will do one of two things, depending on the review type.

If a Standard or Kindle Unlimited reader does not submit their review within 2 days after the due date, our system will automatically cancel their assignment and begin the search for a replacement reader. However, if a Verified Purchase (VP) reader does not submit their review within this timeframe, the VP request will be canceled, and your snaps will be refunded instead of assigning a new reader. Authors must manually request a new VP review if they would like to try again. The reason for this is to keep reported book prices accurate for readers.

Amazon's approval delay

After a reader submits their review to Amazon and turns in their assignment on pubby, we'll give the review up to 14 days to appear on Amazon. We understand that Amazon may take up to 10 days to review and approve written comments.

Just a quick note: the star rating may appear before the written comments on Amazon, but rest assured that their comments will be published as soon as they are approved. Once their review is approved and pulled into your dashboard you will see a "Copy Link" button next to their name.

Please keep in mind that the 10-day period for Amazon's review begins on the day the reviewer turns in their assignment to us, not the day they started reading the book.

If for any reason, we have trouble finding their review, we'll send them friendly email reminders to encourage them to resubmit it.

If a review does not appear within 14 days of being posted on Amazon, our system will automatically cancel the assigned reader and begin searching for a new one (for Standard and Kindle Unlimited requests). During this pending approval period, we cannot cancel a reader prematurely.

For Verified Purchase (VP) requests, if the review does not appear within this timeframe, the request will be canceled, and your snaps will be refunded. You will need to manually request a new VP review, if desired.

Extended Assignments

Did a reader's due date suddenly become later? The reader extended their assignment. Readers can extend the assignment only once; they cannot repeatedly extend it. We find this option helps readers read books in their entirety, and reduces the number of unnecessary cancelations.
