Your smart home may be equipped with Yale lock. If you have a Yale lock, it is key that you understand how to use it. The Yale lock is completely keyless and most models have a capacitive touch screen, which means it has no buttons.
Unlocking the Yale Lock:
To unlock your Yale lock, follow these steps:
Walk up to your unit’s door
Put your hand over the face of the keypad to wake up the lock
Type your code into the lock
Press the Check mark in the lower portion of the lock face
Locking the Yale Lock:
To lock your Yale lock, follow these steps:
On the inside of your home, turn the latch or
On the outside of your home, cover the face of the keypad with your hand
The information in this article applies to both Yale Assure and Yale Pro 2 locks.
Temporary Powering of the Yale Lock:
If the batteries in your Yale keyless smart door lock are dead, you can temporarily power the lock with a 9-volt battery by following these steps:
Step 1: Insert the 9v battery into the emergency battery terminal located at the bottom of the device.
Step 2: Enter your code as usual. You will now be able to open your door.
Note: Yale smart locks with a keyhole do not have this emergency power option.
