Sales Analytics is a powerful tool that helps you manage and track your sales data efficiently. This tool provides comprehensive sales performance insights in one centralized location.

Setup Requirements

Setting up Sales Analytics requires two simple steps:

  1. Install the Chrome Extension

  2. Connect to Amazon KDP


How to Install and Use the Sales Analytics Tool

Follow these step-by-step instructions to get started with the tool:

Step 1: Install the Chrome Extension

Login to Publishing.ai

  1. Log in to your Publishing.ai account

  2. You will see a "Connect Account" prompt upon logging in

  3. Click the "Connect Account" button to proceed

Install the Extension

  1. A prompt will appear asking you to install the Chrome extension

  2. Click the "Add Extension" button

  3. A Chrome Web Store page will open

Important Requirements

Critical: Ensure you are logged into the Chrome Web Store using the same email address that you used to register with Publishing.ai.

Troubleshooting Login Issues

If you encounter an error:

  1. Go to the top-right corner of Chrome

  2. Confirm you are logged in with the correct email address

  3. If using a different email, log out and log back in with the correct email

Confirm Installation

  1. After clicking "Add Extension", a confirmation window will appear

  2. Click "Yes" or "Add Extension" to confirm

  3. Wait for the installation completion notification

  4. Close the Chrome Extension tab

  5. Return to the Publishing.ai window

Step 2: Connect to Amazon KDP

Initiate KDP Connection

  1. In the Publishing.ai interface, click the "Connect to KDP" button

  2. A new window will open

Amazon KDP Login Process

If already logged into KDP:

  • The connection will proceed automatically

If not logged into KDP:

  • You will be prompted to log in with your Amazon credentials

  • Enter your Amazon login information

Confirm Successful Connection

  1. Once connected, you will see a confirmation screen

  2. This indicates the tool is successfully linked to your KDP account

Troubleshooting

Chrome Extension Errors:

Problem: Extension installation fails or shows errors

Solution:

  1. Ensure you are logged into the Chrome Web Store with the same email used to register on Publishing.ai

  2. If error persists, log out and log back in with the correct email

  3. Try the installation process again

Amazon Login Issues:

Problem: KDP connection fails

Solution:

  1. Confirm your Amazon credentials are correct

  2. Clear your browser cache

  3. Retry the connection process

Dashboard Update Delays:

Important Note: After installing the Sales Analytics extension, it may take up to 10 minutes for the dashboard to update with your data.


Account Management

Managing Your Connections

After successful setup:

  1. Click "Manage Accounts" in the top right of your dashboard

  2. This allows you to manage your Chrome extension and KDP connection

  3. You can modify or update your account connections as needed


Using Sales Analytics Features

Marketplace and Book Filters

When you first open Sales Analytics:

  • Filters appear at the top of the page

  • These filters display your sales performance across:

  • Books

  • Formats

  • Marketplaces

Interactive Data Visualization

Hover Functionality:

  • Hover over any bar in the charts

  • View the royalty breakdown by individual books

  • See the percentage of royalties each book contributed to the total

Royalties Overview

"Royalties all the time" section:

  • Displays your overall sales performance

  • Provides a comprehensive snapshot of key metrics

  • Shows numbers you need to monitor regularly

Book Listing

Bottom Dashboard Section:

  • Shows a complete list of all published books

  • Includes breakdown by:

  • Format (ebook, paperback, hardcover, etc.)

  • Ratings

  • Reviews

Individual Book Details

Row Hover Feature:

  • Hover over each book row

  • View royalty breakdown by marketplace

  • See performance across different selling platforms

Deep Dive Analysis

Per-Book Analysis:

  • Perform detailed analysis for individual books

  • View purchases per format

  • Analyze performance per marketplace

  • Get comprehensive book-specific insights
