The daily mileage report allows you to track how many kilometers each vehicle has traveled on a given day. To ensure the highest possible accuracy, we use a methodology that considers the available system records. Below, we explain in detail how the calculation is performed and what factors should be considered.

How Daily Mileage is Calculated

The system records vehicle mileage at different times of the day, depending on data availability. Since mileage is not always recorded at the exact start and end of each day, the daily mileage calculation follows this logic:

1️⃣ First record of the day: Identifies the first recorded mileage of a given day.
2️⃣ First record of the next day: Identifies the first recorded mileage of the following day.
3️⃣ Mileage calculation: The difference between the first record of the next day and the first record of the current day gives the distance traveled that day.

📌 Example calculation:

Date & Time

Recorded Mileage

10-03-2025 02:00

34,500 km

10-03-2025 18:25

34,537 km

11-03-2025 03:12

34,543 km

11-03-2025 08:20

34,567 km

11-03-2025 17:30

34,595 km

12-03-2025 01:25

34,611 km

✏️ Calculation:
10-03-2025: 34,543 km - 34,500 km = 43 km
11-03-2025: 34,611 km - 34,543 km = 68 km
12-03-2025: Cannot be calculated until a new reading is available on 13-03-2025.

Factors to Ensure Accurate Data

Consistent recording times: Ideally, mileage should always be recorded at the same time each day to ensure accurate comparisons.
Days without records: If no record is available for a given day, the calculation will not be accurate until the next available record.
Check for inconsistencies: If discrepancies are detected that do not match actual vehicle operations, a manual review of the records may be necessary.

Conclusion

The daily mileage calculation is a valuable tool for assessing vehicle usage and optimizing fleet management. While the system automatically performs the calculation, following best practices in data collection will help improve the accuracy and reliability of the report.
