It's been a busy past couple of months and we are delighted to announce some new features and improvements on TRAC, ranging from more email alert options, to new ways of discovering insights, and smarter ways of filtering your data.

Below is a breakdown of each functionality, each available on TRAC as of today.

Regular Email Digest

Whilst Pulsar’s KPI email alerts notify users when a specific rule has been triggered in a search, our new email digest provides users with a digestible summary of content that has been collected, either the previous day, week, or month. Each email digest can have up to 50 results, and this is particularly useful for users, such as those who work in PR, when all they want is to get a perspective on the coverage they have received, either at the beginning or at the end of the day.

With the new Email Digest, you will be able to specify:

  • How often you want to receive the email (daily, weekly, monthly)

  • The time of day you want to receive your digest.

  • How the results should be ranked (visibility, impressions, shares).

  • Add a filter to only receive an email digest of coverage that for example, contains specific keywords.

  • Add multiple recipients to receive the digest via email - and these can be Pulsar users, or not!

The email digest is now available on Pulsar TRAC as of today: you will find this below the KPI Alerts in the search settings menu. So go check it out!

Entity detection

Let Pulsar give structure to the data you're collecting and discover the content that really matters. Today, we’re rolling out an early Beta version of our named entity recognition model on TRAC. Our new entity model can extract and identify specific data from social posts and news and classify that data according to predefined categories - named entities. For now, these entities can be People e.g. Tim Cook, Organizations: e.g. Apple, and Products: e.g. iPhone, that are present in a post.

Entity detection is available in the following languages: English, Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Russian, and Spanish for clients who want to participate in the Beta. This means that if you are interested in taking this functionality for a test run, please reach out to your Account Manager to have this switched on for your team. The only commitment we’d need from you in order to switch it on is to give us as much feedback as possible so that we can continue to improve and refine the model!

Emoji analysis:

Over the years, the use of emojis in written communication has become ubiquitous - a smart, concise and universally accepted way to convey meaning and emotion in text to fill in emotional cues, otherwise missing from typed conversation. So, we are stoked about the addition of emoji analysis and filtering to TRAC to help you detect the top emojis that are being used in a search across a range of sources: Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, Forums, Blogs, Reddit.

Emoji analysis is now available on TRAC for all users: you will find this in the Keywords Treemap, Keywords Segments and Audience Bios sections.

In addition to this, you will be able to filter your results by emojis, allowing you to segment the conversation based on the emojis that people use and interpret the meaning behind any conversation. Please note however, that Emoji analysis will work on new content from today onwards.

And lastly, did you know that you can already search by emojis paired with keywords at search setup for Twitter data? All you need to do is pair your emoji with a keyword as shown below:

That's all for now! If you have any feedback or questions then don't hesitate to contact us via the live chat icon, or email us at support.pulsarplatform.com.
