Visibility (a proprietary index combining impressions, engagement, channel and content type) is a score that measures popularity and impact.
It's based on an algorithm that takes into consideration the following 4 things:
The format of the message (whether it's a post or a reply, contains an image, contains a link)
The channel where the message has being posted (i.e. tweets have a lifespan that's shorter than a news article or a blog post)
The size of the audience of the person posting that content (i.e. followers on X or monthly uniques for a news website)
The amount of people who react by engaging with the post (including comments, shares, retweets etc.)
The Visibility score is assigned to every single post and the scores are then aggregated for each author to estimate the influence level of the author.

Why is it useful to have a Visibility score?
People are influential about specific subjects and not across all subjects they discuss, so this is why we apply the Visibility score at post level and not at author level due to such varied topics and keywords being used from post to post.
An influencer score other than visibility being applied to the individual would be misleading because it would lead to assume that the individual is influential about everything they talk about.
Instead, by applying the Visibility score at post level, we can identify influencers by topic and therefore provide a much more granular and accurate view of your influencer network.
