Export / Import Sort Order

Learn the correct steps on how to export and import your sort order

You have the option to export or import the CSV file of your Sort Order. Exporting will give you a CSV file containing the "collection id", "collection title", "product id", "product title", "SKU", "inventory", and "position" columns. On the other hand, you can send back a CSV file of your sort order from your computer to the system.

Aside from exporting or importing your Sort Order's CSV file, we will also cover how to import Previous Positions. This step lets you restore the positions of your products from your backed-up positions. We will also show you how to save the current positions of your products so you can restore them when needed.

Exporting Sort Order

To export a Sort Order, follow these steps:

1. Go to Collections Sort and click Collection Detail.

2. Click the Export/Import sort order button.

3. Click Export.

4. You will now have a CSV copy of your Sort Order on your computer.

Importing Sort Order

Before you start importing your sort order, it's important to export the system's template first and use that template as your basis.

Here are the steps to Import a Sort Order:

1. Go to Collections Sort and click Collection Detail.

2. Choose Manually as your Sort Type.

3. Click the Export/Import sort order button.

4. Choose if you want to import with Product ID or SKU.

What's the difference between importing Product ID versus SKU? Importing products with Product ID lets, you find products based on their Product ID. Otherwise, if you need to find products based on SKUs, import your CSV with SKU.

Again, it is crucial to download our CSV template first. Once you have our template, you can arrange the positions of the products inside the file and import them back.

5. Click Upload.

6. Click this area to start uploading your CSV. You can also directly drop your CSV file into this window.

7. Once the CSV is uploaded, click Import.

8. Once the importing process is successful, you will see your products in a different order. To push the products to your store, click Sort Now and hit Save.

Import Previous Positions

This action lets you save your sort order whenever you need to restore it from its previous positions. The process is straightforward: save your current position (backup), so you can import the position you need.

To save and import a sort order position, follow these steps:

1. Go to Collections Sort and click Collection Detail.

2. Click the Export/Import sort order button.

3. Click the Import previous positions tab.

4. Then select the backup from the list.

Pro tip: If no position is available, you must create a backup first, as shown in step 6.

5. Once you select a position from the list, click Load positions.

6. To back up a current position, click Save current positions.

And that's how you correctly export and import your sort order. Remember to always export our template first and use that as your basis when importing a CSV file back to the system. You can also restore your sort order positions by saving and restoring your desired position from the Import previous positions tab.
