The Select what Products or Variants to Edit is where you can create specific conditions to filter the products and variants you want to edit. By setting certain conditions, you can narrow down the selection to display only the items you want to edit. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to set conditions to find the specific products and variants you want to edit in bulk. After choosing a unique name for your bulk edit, you'll have several options:
Product: Choose this option to select all products based on your conditions.
Variant: This option selects all variants based on your conditions.
Manual: The manual option displays all the products and variants based on your conditions, but allows you to manually select the ones you want to edit.
Import: This option lets you directly upload a list of your products and variants saved in CSV, XLSX, and XLS format.
Product
This section is a walk-through on how to add conditions to find the products you seek. The process below is also similar when you'll pick Variant.
Note: Some product properties are in Variant Level. If you use them, it will show all the products with the variants matching the condition. That will include the variants that don't match the conditions and are at the Product Level. If you select "Variant", you will see only the variants matching the conditions.
1. Click the Product or Variant tab.
2. Set a condition option.
You can choose the following options:
All conditions: Select this option to display all the products from your collection based on your set conditions.
E.g. If condition 1 is true and condition 2 is false, then no products will be displayed.
Any condition: This option will display all the products from your collection based on any conditions you've set.
E.g. If condition 1 is true and condition 2 is false, then it will display all the products based on condition 1.
Custom: The last option enables you to choose custom conditions to find the products you want. You can include or exclude conditions to create a more targeted search. For example, you can set an include condition 1 and exclude condition 2 to display all products meeting condition 1 but not condition 2. This helps you narrow down your search and edit only the products that meet your specific criteria.
3. Select a product property from the drop-down list. There are 26 different product properties* to choose from.
* If you just installed our system, none of your products will have "Restocked date and New inventory added date" information. If you want to use them, please do it at least a day later, as the system needs time to collect the info.
4. Once you have selected from the list, add a comparison.
5. Then, add the text the system will look up to.
6. Click the Preview matched products/variants button to view the products.
7. You also have the option to add another set of conditions by clicking the + Add another condition button.
Pro tip: You can combine up to 10 conditions to narrow your product search.
8. Then repeat step 3.
Pro tip: Click the Preview matched products/variants button to refresh the displayed product list.
9. To remove a condition, click the Bin icon.
10. Depending on the matching condition you selected from step 2, the products that will be displayed vary.
Manual
With Manual product selection, you can pick the products or variants you want to include for your bulk edit.
1. Click the Manual tab.
2. Select a product or variant property from the list.
3. Choose a comparison that the system will use.
4. Type the text that the system will look up to.
5. Once done, click the Preview matched products/variants button.
6. You can add up to 10 conditions to narrow your product search by clicking the + Add another condition button.
Pro tip: Click the Preview matched products/variants button to refresh the displayed product list.
7. To remove a condition, click the Bin icon.
8. Now, click the product(s) to select it from the list.
Pro tip: If you need to choose multiple products, hold the Ctrl key of your keyboard and click the products you want to select.
9. Once you choose the products or variants, click the + Add button.
10. These products and variants will now be displayed on the Preview selected products/variants and modifications area.
Import
The import option is a whole new way to select products because the products here are already chosen by you and are directly uploaded to the system using a CSV, XLSX, or XLS file. We recommend downloading our template first for a seamless product upload.
1. Click the Import tab.
2. Click the Download Sample File to download the system's template.
3. Once it's downloaded, open the CSV file that is named "import_product_sample.csv."
4. Following the template, add the details of your products.
Pro tip: For an easier way to import products into the system, create your conditions first to filter the products or variants you are searching for and click the Export button. This will provide you with a copy of the products in a CSV file which you can import once needed.
5. Once done, go back to the system and click this area in the system or drag the CSV file towards it.
6. If the Import is successful, it will display all the products from this section.
