Displaying recommended products to customers simplifies their discovery of new products and can boost online store sales. You can find the product recommendations feature while creating a product group.

1. After following the steps outlined in the article "create a group and add products", you will notice a "+" symbol in the "Select how to create/update product group" section of the "Create Product Group" page.

2. Click on the "+" sign on the product to add recommended products to this product group.

3. You will find two types of recommendations - Related products and Complementary products.

Note:

Related products are similar to the one you selected. You can show possible alternatives to help customers find other similar products they might enjoy. These products should show up in a "You might also like" section on the product page.

1. In the recommended products popup, select the "Related" option to see the related products recommended by Shopify based on Purchase history, Product description, and Related collections.

2. You can select the product you would like to add to the product group. First, check the product from the list and click on "Add product".

3. This product will now be displayed in the "Select how to create/update product group" section of the product group.

Note: The recommendation logic is from Shopify and predicts the products by considering the product a customer is engaging with.

Complementary products are items frequently purchased alongside a selected product, known for pairing well with the current item. To assist customers in finding new products, you can showcase these complementary items on the product page.

1. In the recommended products popup, select the "Complementary" option to see the related Complementary products .

2. You can select the complementary product you would like to add to the product group. First, check the product from the list and click on "Add product".

3. This product will now be displayed in the "Select how to create/update product group" section of the product group.

Note: Complementary products need to be manually set up and can be added in Metafield in Shopify admin.
