Coin creation in itself is free on Pump.fun, but the coin will be offchain and not seen by the public. To get it onchain a first buy must be made by you, the dev, or by anyone who has the coin web address.

How much does it cost to create and buy?

If you wish to buy your coin during the creation process to set it onchain, the following Solana blockchain fees apply:

  • 0.02 SOL first buy fee.

  • 0.005 SOL gas fee.

  • Recommended extra 0.015 for future transactions.

  • Total: 0.04 SOL

Example: If you have 0.5 SOL in wallet. Minus 0.04 SOL as mentioned above. You have 0.46 SOL to buy with.

What is a ticker?

A "ticker" is a unique, shorthand symbol (usually a few letters) used to identify and refer to a specific cryptocurrency or coin on exchanges, trading platforms, and in general discussions.

Examples of tickers:

  • Solana's ticker is SOL

  • Bitcoin = BTC

  • Ethereum = ETH

  • Binance Coin = BNB

What kind of images can I use for my coin?

Supported Image Formats:

  • jpg

  • png

    • Max file size = 4.2MB.

    • Recommended dimensions: 250x250 or 500x500.

Support Video Format:

  • mp4

    • Max file size = 93MB.

How do I add my website and socials?

When creating a coin, below the description entry field, you will see "show more options ↓". This will open up additional fields to enter in your website, telegram, and twitter.

Please note that once you create your coin, this info cannot be changed. The contract is renounced upon creation which makes the Metadata Immutable.

However, you can add socials on other platforms such as DexScreener and CoinGecko for example. As the data sits on their site, not the coin itself. Sites that uses the coin metadata will take the data from the coin.

What does "offchain coin" mean?

There are two reasons you see this on the coin page.

You created the coin with no buy.

Your coin will go live onchain once this is completed. It can be searched. The label will still show it's offchain because that's how it was made.

The coin was created using a 3rd party tool and not directly through the Pump User Interface (UI).
