When you create a campaign and choose a recommender template, you will need to select which type of recommender to choose.

Automated Recommender

PureClarity uses information about what customer is viewing, has added to the basket as well as past behaviours to decide on the most relevant type of recommendation to show. We suggest you start with this type of recommender.

The type of recommendation is also determined by the type of page the customer is on. On the homepage for example, PureClarity may show, "Recommended based on your last visit", "Trending Products" whilst on a product page, "Frequently bought together" or, "Customers also bought".

Settings

Simply choose the minimum and maximum number of items to show in the recommender, and PureClarity will do the rest.

Custom Recommender

Custom recommenders allow you to choose the source pool of products, and optional filters to restrict the products shown. If there are no products that match the settings for the user, then the recommender will not show.

Source

Choose where PureClarity will pull the products from the show in the recommender.

Manual Recommenders allow you choose the exact products, categories or brands to show. These are useful for highlighting clearance products for example, or defining a, "complete the look" style of recommnder.

Best Sellers will show the best selling products on your site. Remember this is shown by our automated recommender as well, so think carefully before using this.

Recommended For You will show a curated set of products that PureClarity identifies as being the most relevant for the customer. This is based on their recent activity on your site, as well as previous orders. There may be nothing to recommend to the customer, in which case the campaign will not show. Remember this is also shown by our automated recommender as well, so think carefully before using this

Recently Viewed will show the products the customer has recently viewed. There may be nothing to recommend to the customer, in which case the campaign will not show. Remember this is shown by our automated recommender as well, so think carefully before using this.

Trending Products will show the products on your site with the highest change in sales rank. Remember this is shown by our automated recommender as well, so think carefully before using this.

Filters

Add one or more filters to restrict the products. This may result in there being no products to show, in which case the campaign will not show.

Minimum Price - Only products being sold for greater than this price can be shown in the recommender.

Maximum Price - Only products being sold for less than this price can be shown in the recommender.

In Category - Only products in this category can be shown in the recommender.

In Brand - Only products in this brand can be shown in the recommender.

Has SearchTag - Only products that are tagged with this tag will be shown. How these tags are defined depends on your e-commerce platform. Please get in touch with your customer success manager for more details.

Other Settings

Choose the title as well as the minimum and maximum number of items to show in the recommender, and PureClarity will do the rest.

Attribution and Click Total

PureClarity automatically records which products customers interact with on recommenders. If a customer goes on to purchase these products, we record the total value of the product purchased as click total. You can see your click total in the analytics against each zone and campaign. You can use our Recommender ROI analytics to see detailed analytics that show how well the recommendations are performing on your site.
