How to set up PureVPN manually on Windows 8 (PPTP)

Find your VPN credentials for manual configuration

To find your VPN credentials log into the PureVPN member area. Click 👉 here to visit Member Area.

  • Login to the Member Area using your PureVPN registered email address and password.

  • On Subscription tab scroll down to be able to view your VPN credentials.

  • You will be able to see and copy your VPN credentials.

  • Note down your PureVPN username and click the Eye icon to make your password visible and use it in the manual configuration.


How to connect PureVPN PPTP manually on Windows 8

Follow these simple steps to configure PureVPN manually on Windows 8:

  • Right click the Lan/ Wifi icon from System tray and select Open Network and Sharing Center.

Right click on "Lan / Wifi icon” from System tray and select "Open Network and Sharing Center"
  • Click Set up a new connection or network.

Click on "Set up a new connection or network"
  • Select Connect to workplace and click Next.

Select "Connect to workplace" and click “Next”
  • Select Use my Internet connection (VPN).

Select "Use my Internet connection (VPN)"

Insert the following info:

  • Insert desired server address. 👉 Click here to get the server list

  • Insert destination name as PureVPN PPTP or PureVPN US etc

  • Select Remember my credentials

  • Select Allow other people to use this connection

  • Click Create.

  • Right click the PureVPN PPTP connection and select View connection properties

Note: If you are on Windows 8.1, then click on Change Adapter Settings from the Network and Sharing center, right click PureVPN PPTP connection, select Properties.

  • Click Security tab and select Point to Point Tunneling protocol (PPTP).

Click on Security tab and select "Point to Point Tunneling protocol (PPTP)"
  • Select Required Encryption from Data encryption drop down menu.

Insert the following info:

  • Click Networking tab.

  • Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.

  • Click OK.

Click on "Networking" tab Uncheck "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" then Click "OK"
  • Click the Wifi/ Lan icon from System tray.

Click on "Wifi / Lan icon" from System tray
  • Click PureVPN PPTP connection and click Connect.

Click on PureVPN PPTP connection and click "Connect"
  • Insert your Username and Password provided by PureVPN then Click OK.

Important Note: Please always remember your PureVPN username & password is different from your Website Member Area email address & Password.
