What is PurePrivacy?

How does PurePrivacy work?

PurePrivacy connects and analyzes your social media accounts’ settings. It then recommends updates to your settings that enhance your privacy, and you can apply these recommendations quickly with just one tap. Also by leveraging privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA, PurePrivacy sends requests on your behalf to data brokers to remove any information that they might have about you.

Do I need to be tech-savvy to use PurePrivacy?

No, PurePrivacy does not require you to be a security expert, instead we make it very simple for you by analyzing and recommending you actions that you can take by tap of a button and increase your privacy.

Do I need an account to use PurePrivacy?

No, you can start using PurePrivacy as a guest. This allows you to connect your social media accounts, analyze them, look for data breaches and get recommendations to maintain your online privacy.

Does PurePrivacy save my social media password or login details?

We never store or save any of your social media login details. You simply login to your social media account and give PurePrivacy permission to update your settings for better privacy and security.

Why do I need to remove my data from the internet?

Almost anything and everything you do on the internet is tracked and logged, what you search for, what you browse and your personal information. All of this is used to profile and target you through tailored advertisements.Some entities called Data Brokers collect and compile data about individuals from every and any source, then these Data Brokers sell this data to advertisers or anyone who is willing to pay up. PurePrivacy’s data removal tool allows individuals to request that their personal information be removed from the data broker's database.

What is Remove My Data?

PurePrivacy’s Remove My Data allows individuals to request that their personal information be removed from a data broker's database. Data brokers are companies that collect and sell personal information to other businesses, marketers, and other third parties.

Why do you need my full name and Country?

We need these details to request Data brokers on your behalf to remove any data that they might have about you.

Why do I have to sign the Authorization form?

We need your authorization to be able to request data brokers on your behalf to remove any data that they might have about you.

How long does it take to remove my data from data brokers databases?

It takes approximately 30 days for your data to be removed from data brokers’ databases. This varies based on the databroker and the severity of the data. Status for removal requests are updated and visible for you to remain informed.

Do I get to know when my personal information has been removed?

Yes. Your dashboard will be updated as soon as your personal information has been removed.

Does PurePrivacy completely remove my name from the internet?

The internet is vast and wherever you go, information about you is being tracked, so it’ not possible to be completely sure that any and every information about you has been deleted from the internet, but we remove it from most public data brokers and are constantly monitoring and increasing the endpoints where we delete your data from.

Can data brokers keep my data that is provided in the data removal request?

Data brokers are legally obliged by laws such as GDPR and CCPA to remove user data based on their request. In case they don’t follow suit, PurePrivacy can take legal action against them, so you don't have to worry.

What is Tracker Blocker?

Tracker Blocker stops web trackers from collecting information about you while you surf the web to talk to your friends or shop online. This protects your privacy and prevents your personal information from being used against you by targeted marketing, tracking, and other intrusive actions.

How does PurePrivacy’s Tracker Blocker work?

Tracker blocker simply stops trackers from communicating with their owners, hence they are unable to collect and store any information about you while you.

Will Tracker Blocker slow down my web browsing experience?

The feature is designed to work seamlessly in the background without affecting your web browsing speed or performance. Tracker blocker only stops trackers from collecting information about you, this means that it won’t negatively affect your web-browsing experience.

Can I choose which trackers to block and which to allow?

Tracker blocker blocks all known web trackers to protect your online privacy as much as possible. Hence for now you won't be able to choose which trackers to block.

Can I turn the Tracker Blocker on and off as needed?

Yes, you can turn Tracker Blocker on and off as needed from your PurePrivacy dashboard.
