💧 Handling ECO II+ Is Leaking

Prevent leaks with proper ECO II+ setup: check o-rings, tighten clips, and run a water test.

Updated over 3 months ago

⚙️ 1. Check Installation Integrity

Leaks most commonly result from improper assembly or loose fittings. Follow these checks:

  • Ensure All Parts Are Installed Correctly. Review your system's installation against the official guide. Each system should include:

    • Canister filtration system

    • Outlet elbow with o-ring

    • Connectors and adaptors

    • Foundation brackets and tension parts

    • Clips and hose clamps Refer to assembly instructions in Steps 1–10 of the manual.

  • Verify O-Ring Placement.

    • Two black o-rings must be securely fitted at the inlet and outlet openings of the canister (Step 4).

    • A missing or misaligned o-ring is a common cause of leaks.

  • Check and Secure Fitting Clips.

    • The connector and adapter elements (depending on pipe size) must be fully inserted and secured with the appropriate clips and clamps (Steps 5 and 6).

    • Loose or incomplete connections can lead to leakage.

  • Ensure Tight Bracketing and Seals.

    • The canister should be seated firmly in the foundation brackets and held in place with the tension parts on both sides (Step 8).

    • This ensures vertical alignment and reduces pressure stress on connections.

🧪 2. Perform a Water Test

After installation or part replacement:

  • Suck in at least 0.5 gallons (2 liters) of water to check for leaks, especially at inlet and outlet connections.

  • Observe all joint areas while running the vacuum to see where fluid may escape.

⛓️‍💥 3. Typical Leak Sources

Typical leak sources are:

  • Improperly seated or missing o-rings

  • Loose hose clamps

  • Unsecured adapters or clips

  • Cracked or improperly fitted canister base

  • Damaged inlet/outlet fitting

🆘 4. If You Cannot Locate or Fix the Leak

If the issue persists even after thorough inspection and reseating:
