The PUSH Band is designed to specifically monitor your output performed during exercises, not outputs during the time between them. 

Begin tracking an exercise set when the athlete is in position to lift. End tracking immediately after they have finished their last repetition.

Pressing the button on top of the PUSH Band can both begin and end the tracking of an exercise set. Alternatively, you can also use the display on your iOS device to begin and end the tracking of an exercise set.
