This section covers everything to do with creating workouts and scheduling them for Athletes. Please see the subpages for detailed information on each topic, and this page for actions that are universal to all types of documents that can be scheduled.


Component: An individual component in a workout (e.g. a warm up or a resistance training component). See Block Creator page for more information.

Session: A single workout, composed of any number of blocks/components.

Example: A warm up, followed by a resistance training component, followed by a cool-down.

NOTE: We often use the term "session" to refer to the actual completed workout as well. In the case of scheduling however a session is a set of components compiled into one 'file'.

Resistance Training Component: The strength training portion of the Portal system. A list of exercises along with detailed workout prescriptions to complete, with or without the PUSH band. Exercises can also be organized into supersets.


The User can create folders to organize components, sessions, and programs. Folders are separated by type, so can hold only sessions, only programs, or only resistance training components depending on the section of Portal the User is viewing. The User can create folders inside of other folders and move folders freely between other folders.

Create/Edit Folder

When creating a folder the User must specify a name. The section the User is currently viewing in Portal determines what type of folder is being created.

Example: If the User creates a folder while viewing the 'Sessions' tab in the 'Programming' Section, then the folder created will be a Session folder that can only hold sessions and only be accessed in that section of Portal.

Moving Folders

Drag and drop folders to move them inside of other folders. On both the Builder page and the Programming page you can also drag and drop folders onto the breadcrumbs list at the top of the page to move them outside of the current folder.

Deleting Folders

When deleting a folder the User will be asked to confirm they want to delete the folder and will be given three options:

  1. Delete folder only: Only deletes the folder itself and moves everything inside up one level.

    Example: If you had a physical folder containing papers, and you took the papers out of the folder and threw away only the empty folder.

  2. Delete folder and all contents: Deletes the folder and everything inside of it.

    Example: If you had a physical folder containing papers and you just threw away the entire folder along with the papers.

  3. Cancel: Will cancel the delete action and leave the folder as is.
