Why connect to your HRIS?

The best way to fully leverage the power of Pyn is by making sure you have accurate, up-to-date information about your employees in the Pyn platform.

How It's Done

1. Set up a service user in HiBob

Pyn requires a service user with API access, for all employees, including inactive/former employees. View (read only) is required for the following categories:

  • Basic Info

  • Work

  • Employment

  • Internal

  • Address (we read city, country, and postal code only)

  • Home (we read private email address)

  • Personal (we read short birth date)

The HiBob documentation has up-to-date instructions on setting this up. The resulting service user ID and API Token will need to be entered into Pyn in the next step.

3. Connect Pyn to HiBob

Log into Pyn as a user with admin or owner permissions. Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Available and select the HiBob tile.

Enter in the Service User ID and API Token from the prior step into their respective fields, and press Connect.

If successful, the HiBob integration will be created for your Pyn workspace and the synchronisation will start in the background. If there is any issue connecting to HiBob with your provided credentials, you'll be prompted to check the details provided and try again.

What's next?

  • Hourly sync: Pyn runs automated checks on HiBob every hour to pull new hires, updates, and departures into your Directory.

  • Sync issues: Any temporary failure to sync will be retried. Repeated failures over 24 hours or a permanent failure will place the integration into an error state and alert workspace owners and Pyn Support.

FAQs

Can we test the integration before using in a live workspace?

Yes! Pyn will provide you a sandbox workspace on request that can be used to test the integration before going live.

How can we change credentials?

You can change the credentials used by Pyn to access HiBob at any time by tapping Refresh token inside meatball menu of the service user, then entering the new credential into Pyn by: pressing the HiBob tile in the Settings > Integrations screen, pressing the meatball menu on the top-right and selecting Reconnect. Enter your new credentials and press Connect.
